Physical Security Technology Lead

Role Description

As the Physical Security Technology Manager, you will be instrumental in growing and supporting our robust and leading-edge physical security technology infrastructure while meeting the needs of the business and integrating with the culture and systems.  Keeping up with the high demands of a rapidly growing and changing environment, partaking in multiple concurrent projects and ensuring a high level of availability, while offering a world-class experience to our employees, are some of the challenges you will face. This position is located in our San Francisco office.


  • Build and scale security systems and tools with business growth
  • Research and development of technical solutions for physical security hardware and software
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders internally and externally
  • Work with third-party contractors during construction projects to meet installation standards and requirements
  • Manage external vendors and integrators
  • Provide strategic direction on evolving physical security systems
  • Develop and maintain systems incident response program
  • Maintain, troubleshoot and resolve issues with hardware and technology
  • Manage security systems team
  • Keep documentation current and relevant
  • Ensure resilient communications processes and systems for all security stakeholders        
  • Proactive assessment and measurement of systems and equipment to ensure optimum performance
  • Identify, measure and report on metrics that demonstrate the health and effectiveness of the program
  • Test effectiveness of the physical security implementation and execution to ensure the environment is protected and to maintain ongoing compliance
  • Willingness to work evenings and weekends occasionally
  • Occasional travel required


  • 5+ years of experience developing and supporting physical security systems
  • Management of a technical team and their place in the business 
  • Experience with developing standards for and executing security systems installations in office and data center deployments both domestically and internationally
  • Security system planning experience and a deep understanding of risk management concepts
  • Demonstrated experience with meeting compliance standards, such as PCI or ISO 27001
  • Demonstrated project management experience
  • Familiarity with and a definite interest in the following physical security technologies: Alarm systems, video surveillance cameras and recorders, video analytics, intrusion detection systems, locking mechanisms
  • Demonstrated experience with the following technologies: Mac, OS X, Microsoft Active Directory,  Microsoft SQL Server, Microsoft Windows 7, TCP/IP, networks and firewalls
  • Experience with data import, export and manipulation
  • Ability to read and interpret an electronic schematic; basic electrical engineering or cabling experience is a plus
  • Ability to read and interpret architectural plans; CAD experience is a plus
  • Some experience with PC remote control and software deployment tools
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • BS in Computer Science or equivalent
