Field Sales Rep, Oilfield Services Suite

Oildex by Drillinginfo is the largest oil and gas financial automation software firm in North America. We are looking for an Field Sales Rep to join our team. This role is a “hunter” sales role based in Midland, TX, Houston, TX, Denver, CO or other location close to major US Onshore plays with responsibility for selling the complete Oildex Oilfield Supplier Suite (OSS) portfolio within an assigned geographic territory.  The most successful candidates take a team approach versus an individual approach to the sales process.  It is a quota-based role with significant incentives for meeting and exceeding quota.  

Competitive Candidate Profile

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering or other relevant majors, or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of successful experience selling software application and consulting solutions. SaaS sales experience a plus
  • Experience in Oil & Gas industry strongly preferred
  • Understanding of basic financial operations, drilling, completion and production operations
  • Computer Skills: Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Salesforce
  • Must know outside sales and account management/retention with the ability to demonstrate expertise of an enterprise sales process (CLC markers, discovery, value proposition, buying process, decision makers, risk mitigation, retention and closing)
  • The intangibles include being driven by results, high goal-orientation, working with urgency.  In other words, you MUST have a strong motor!

Basic Performance Objectives

  • Manage a geographic sales territory, identify new logo opportunities, effectively qualify leads, build a balanced pipeline of opportunities, accurately forecast, effectively manage internal resources and develop successful account selling strategies
  • Team with Solution Architects, Account Managers, Product Managers, Executives and other resources to develop and win new opportunities
  • Negotiate final terms with working knowledge of contracting including Master Software Agreements, Order for Services and Statement of Work
  • Creative thinker in advocating fit-for-purpose solutions with prospects
  • Consultative sales approach to working with prospective customers
  • Entrepreneurial approach to territory and assigned accounts.  Run as a business with a focus on forecasting commitment and continuous pipeline growth
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multi-tasking skills to meet deadlines
  • Works collaboratively and cooperatively in a team environment
  • Execute annual sales goal and meet targets for new client acquisition and account growth in the Oilfield Services market
  • Provide quarterly, semi-annual and annual forecasts within an acceptable accuracy rate
  • Expected to attend trade shows, sales summit and client meetings with travel up to 50%
