The range of energy industry participants we serve includes exploration and production (E&P) companies and related businesses such as oilfield services, midstream, capital markets, power generators and utilities, energy traders, and downstream commercial & industrial energy consumers.

We are currently seeking a highly driven, self-starter working in an analyst role to help with the development of new, high value products.  This person will be part of a strategic team working on realizing opportunity from recent acquisitions.  The strategic team be cross-functional consisting of hard hitting R&D technologists and cutting edge statistical modeling.  This is an opportunity to leverage and improve on your analytical abilities and relationship building skills while supporting a key corporate initiative.  If successful, he or she will own significant components of the Business Automation product portfolio.  This person will be willing to relocate to Denver, CO, but could also be based in Houston, TX, depending on the fit.

A successful person in this role will:

  • Leverage analytical abilities to derive high value datasets and insights centered around operational efficiencies, cost optimization, capital deployment and engineering practices
  • Work with a group of data scientists to solve complex problems with cutting edge statistical methods
  • Manage and execute project timelines and expectations by working with internal developers and analysts and effectively communicate progress and risk
  • Develop strong relationships with industry partners and become a go-to analyst on all relevant projects
  • Embrace cutting edge technologies such as real time streaming apps, next generation GPU databases, and high end visualization tools to develop high performance software
  • Be knowledgeable on broad market trends in Oilfield Services and E&P, including the changing customer and competitive environments, and current landscape of activity and M&A

Competitive Candidate Profile

  • Ideally, the Analyst will fit as many of the following points of experience and qualifications as possible:
  • Bachelors or graduate education in Business, Computer Science or an Engineering field; Masters preferred
  • 1-5 years of analyst or similar quantitative area and a demonstrated ability to develop valuable insights that drive change or action
  • Knowledge with Machine Learning algorithms or other modeling techniques
  • Experience with Oil and Gas, Supply Chain, and/or Capital Budgets a benefit
  • Computer programming or database querying skills
  • An abiding interest in the US Oilfields and innovations which can make it more productive and efficient
  • Demonstrated ability to develop relationships with colleagues and industry representatives
  • Experience managing deadlines and expectations in a fast paced, entrepreneurial environment
  • Willingness and capability to learn new technologies and areas quickly
  • Experience using data and metrics to back up assumptions and assertions of business value
