Technical Product Manager

Job Description:

We are looking for technologists who are passionate about launching new innovative software and data products with great user experience.

Within the Dow Jones Professional Information Business, you will work with fellow Technology Product Managers to lead complex, multi-disciplinary technology projects using your engineering and business domain expertise for multiple areas of the PIB group. You will own the product vision, identify new applications of technology to improve customer experiences and Dow Jones internal workflows, champion and develop product roadmaps, plan requirements for services, software and datasets for current and future customers and markets, and usher projects through the entire project lifecycle.

Key aspects of the role include acting as the voice of the customer to the Technology teams, developing a deep understanding of our world-leading premium content businesses and structured data products, leading project funding requests, ensuring alignment of development priorities with your partners in business, and managing engagement with all project stakeholders. You're equally at home explaining your team's analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical trade-offs in product development with engineers.

You will be immersed in leading edge technologies; drive adoption in Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence; have access to one of the largest datasets of premium news content in the world; and get to work with engineering teams in Europe, the USA and Asia-Pacific.

  • Work with technology development teams to scope, size, and cost product development efforts, and co-ordinate product roadmaps and deliverables for multiple software and data-centric projects
  • Develop and execute plans under a set of implementation and delivery time constraints, optimizing for a complex blend of product cost, service opportunity cost and ongoing support costs.
  • Facilitate broad collaboration with clear communications and documentation.

  • Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics or related fields, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Experience managing technology projects
  • Industry-recognised project management certification (e.g. Agile, Scrum, PMP, or Prince2)
  • Experience building and delivering technology programs in the Financial, insurance and banking industries
  • Technology vendor engagement or management experience
