About the Role:
The Professional Information Business Engineering Team is looking for an hands-on Engineering Manager based in Barcelona, who will oversee the design, development, integration, support and maintenance of multiple Risk and Compliance applications; ensure that they follow established policies, procedures and guidelines; monitor systems performance; and provide management of engineering staff.
You Will:
- Lead recruiting efforts for the team
- Manage and mentor an experienced, accomplished team of Software Engineers
- Lead technical discussions and drive technical decisions covering your responsibilities
- Understand and practice agile software development and management
- Partner with stakeholders to manage scope and deliverables
- Design, develop & support front-end web, ReSTful APIs, and database components following our SDLC best practices and guidelines.
- Build and execute rigorous load, stress and performance tests before deploying software
You Have:
- 5+ years of design, development, and deployment of application software
- 3+ years of team management experience
- Skills & proficiency in the development of full stack applications which includes web sites & APIs using technologies such as Nginx, apache, Tomcat.
- Experience with Git, Jenkins
- Experience designing and deploying applications in a cloud-based environment.
- Understanding of front-end development and architectures
- Experience with Web technologies (JavaScript, TypeScript, React or Angular 2/4/5, CSS)
- Experience with relational and NoSQL databases such as SQL Server, DynamoDB
- Expert knowledge of XML & JSON
- Working knowledge of any mainstream object-oriented programming language, ideally Java
- Experience in Continuous Integration & Delivery of applications
- Experience building and deploying microservices
- Familiar with Test Automation
- Experience managing performance metrics of the applications
