Job Description:

Dow Jones & Company is seeking a litigation attorney who will primarily work on copyright and content-protection matters, including efforts to safeguard the journalism produced by The Wall Street Journal and Dow Jones's other publications from infringement.

The attorney will be responsible for policing and protecting Dow Jones's copyrights globally, including working with outside counsel on enforcement litigation. The attorney will also conduct prepublication review of editorial and advertising content for copyright and publicity concerns, counsel Dow Jones's newsrooms on freelance and other contracts, advise journalists and others on fair use, respond to demand letters and infringement claims, and work on general commercial matters affecting Dow Jones.

The successful candidate will be a team player who is able to provide practical legal advice and support in a fast-paced environment. Dow Jones is seeking a candidate with approximately three years of relevant experience, strong interpersonal skills, a superior work ethic, the ability to balance multiple requests requiring real-time response, and a dedication to ethics and professional responsibility.
