Application Programmer

Job Description:

Our group is responsible for editorial and publishing applications for The Dow Jones Digital Newsroom. We build and support systems that process and deliver content for The Wall Street Journal, Barron's and MarketWatch web sites.

You will design, implement, maintain and troubleshoot critical back-end applications for the publishing system. You will be working with editors, product managers and other developers to deliver efficient and reliable solutions in the ever-evolving world of digital media. Some of the critical technologies that are currently in use by us include: Java, tomcat, camel, ActiveMQ.

This position requires:

  • Computer Science B.S. or equivalent experience
  • 5 years of Java experience
  • Strong knowledge of Unix/Linux
  • Understanding of SQL and Xpath queries is required
  • Apache http server configuration knowledge is a plus
  • AWS experience is a plus
  • HTML, CSS, JavaScript is a plus
