Summer Stylist - New York

At Dormify we are leading the charge in helping college bound students style their spaces and making their dorm a perfect home away from home. We are a home decor e-commerce company that offers stylish, high quality designs for teen bedrooms, dorm rooms and first apartments along with design inspiration to help young adults create a space that reflects their style preferences and tastes. Our team is full of innovative, nimble thinkers who wear many hats. We work hard, have fun, and love to see our customers creation’s come to life.

The summer is our busiest season as we help prepare our customers to style their dorm looks. Emerging into the market this summer, Dormify Pop-Up Shops will act as a direct extension of our online brand allowing customers to interact with the product on a personal level.

Responsibilities
As a Dormify Stylist you will be working directly with customers, assisting them during one-on-one Stylist Sessions to outfit their space. You will maximize sales through scheduled appointments as well as walk-in consultations. Aside from representing Dormify, typical tasks will include, but are not limited to:
- Promoting Dormify through your own network, actively prospecting new clientele
- Managing your own appointment schedule including pre and post sale activities

During scheduled appointments, you will:
- assess the customer’s needs
- educate them about dorm living and necessities
- recommend the best Dormify product to match their personal style
- Place orders utilizing merchandise found on Dormify.com
- Assisting walk-in clients
- Staffing all Dormify Events - both in and out of the Pop-Up Shop
- Maintaining a clean, safe working environment while providing the best customer experience
- Focusing on achieving and exceeding daily, weekly, and monthly sales goals on an individual and store level
- Follow through with customers post sale
- Follow up with thank you notes or messages, focusing on excellent customer service pre, during and post appointment

Be responsible for special projects that could include:

Social Media: Promote your pop up through facebook and instagram using specific pages created specifically for that pop up
This can include but is not limited to: showcasing customers with their bed post appointment to the instagram story, promoting product throughout the pop up shop, pushing product when it launches/when there is a need to, allowing instagram followers to get a glimpse into a styling appointment, creating campaigns (such as stylists picks) to push product, promoting pop up shop events throughout the summer (ex: meet the founder, college nights)

Event Planner: Take the lead on all events, both in and out of the Pop-Up Shop
This can include but is not limited to: Organizing the facebook page and invitations for each specific event, organizing food, supplies, and decorations, networking to ensure the success of the event, ensuring that the event is being adequately promoted and accurately represented on social media, ensuring that there are enough stylists to staff the event.

Visual Merchandising: Guaranteeing that the pop up shop accurately represents the product Dormify has to offer
This can include but is not limited to: Making sure that the look and feel is on point, ensuring that all product is easily visible for stylists to access, keeping things organized both in the front of the pop up shop and in the back, removing trash from the pop up shop and maintaining its cleanliness

Customer Service: Focusing on customer service both in the pop up shop, and through the chat feature on the website
This can include but is not limited to: Ensuring that all stylists are following up with customers post appointment, confirming appointments, reaching out to customers who do not show up for appointments, working with the HQ Customer Service team to aid in Zendesk chat and tickets

You
- are a current college student or recent college grad that a thing (or two) about dorm living
- are sociable and outgoing with a passion for people
- have a strong eye for style and interior design
- have 0-2 years of selling retail experience
- are a team player and collaborate with your colleagues
- aren’t afraid to get your hands dirty to set up the floor and stockroom
- are creative and drive sales to meet and exceed individual and store goals
- organized and able to manage your own appointments and schedule
- have strong follow through
- have a positive and professional attitude
