Graphic Design Intern - Fall 2017

Dormify is a revolutionary new way that college students can bring style to their lives at school and beyond. We bring small space style solutions to students, and bridge their lifestyle touch points at school to fit with their personal fashion sense. And we want you to help us do this! Dormify is looking for a passionate college student to intern with us, with a focus on graphic design. We’re looking for a smart, creative, and proactive designer to assist the brand's lead graphic designer and provide general digital/print design support for Dormify.com and various distribution channels.

Fall term: September - December 2017 (8 week minimum, 15 hrs/week recommended)
Fall deadline: August 31, 2017

You would wear many hats, but specific tasks might include:
In-office photoshoots that you will execute on your own (photography experience necessary)
Image editing (experience required)
Creating email blasts in Photoshop
Creating website graphics
Simple stop motion video editing and animation (not required but strongly encouraged!)
Product design
Feedback on new products and buying
Off site photoshoot planning with our creative team
Creating graphics for social media channels
Researching inspiration and creating mood boards for various projects/shoots
Organizing and prepping brand assets for events
Assisting in the creation of marketing and promotional materials

You’re awesome in general, and you:
Are passionate about your work, and take pride in excelling at what you do.
Know how to take a great photo.
Think punctuality and attention to detail are both important.
Are collaborative and work well with other teammates (but can work alone when necessary)
* Are comfortable working in a fast paced environment.

We’ll like you even more if you:
Can create and edit short form videos for social media
Can write a great pun/pop culture reference.
Are handy with Instagram/Snapchat
Take initiative — we know that the best work comes from doing what you love.
Are interested in photography or illustration.
Send us a pic of your current room.

Necessary Skills:
Solid skills in Photoshop, InDesign & Illustrator
Strong understanding of general graphic design principles
Strong knowledge and interest in typography
Strong knowledge of image formats and optimization for the web
Must be organized! Keep things clean and easy to find
You must be able to work in our downtown Manhattan offices
* You must know how to use a Mac
