As a Software Engineer in the Consumer Entertainment Group, you will be part of a fast-moving Scrum team that is bringing spectacular Dolby experiences to billions of people around world. Whether it is three dimensional, object-based audio for Internet video streaming services, or personalized commentary for live sports on television, you will be helping to deliver that experience.


  • Design and develop core technologies and SDK's for audio/video applications in C/C++ and Python
  • Investigate and solve problems in existing audio/video applications
  • Partner with Product Management, QA, and Support teams to build spectacular products
  • Design and develop software for professional audio products (broadcast and streaming workflows)
  • Create and maintain software design specifications
  • Follow test driven development practices
  • Lead software design presentations with team
  • Perform quality work against technical and schedule challenges, follow strong software design and process principles
  • Review and understand customer needs
  • Create proof of concept demonstrations of new technology applications
  • Interest and aptitude to learn and innovate around Dolby's adoption of Cloud infrastructure, Docker containers, and microservices


  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Software Engineering or Computer Science, plus 4+ years of relevant professional experience
  • Demonstrated proficiency in C with experience in C++ and object oriented programming a plus
  • Solid Python skills
  • Linux development experience
  • Experience working within Agile development environments
  • Fast learner, solid problem solver, with great testing and debugging skills
  • Highly motivated and energetic
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience with Docker and/or microservices a plus
  • Experience with AWS, GCP, or Azure a plus
  • Experience creating software for audio or video application a plus
  • Experience with open source libraries a plus (e.g. FFmpeg, GStreamer)
  • Experience with streaming and broadcast standards is a plus (e.g. MPEG DASH, HLS)
