Along with the VP of Global Communications, the team will discover new and better ways to communicate the company’s innovations, intentions and ideals. To help people understand Dolby’s business, how we work with the industry, and what it means to us to help artists preserve and maintain the integrity of their work. To do that, we need the absolute best talent, including marketing experts to get the word out.

This is a great opportunity to enhance skills in PR. In this role, you will continue to learn, hone in on and expand your skills in handling project tasks including writing content, working closely with all senior staff members in planning, analyzing and evaluating information for both programs and projects and in managing assigned tasks. Your work will join you with a great team for larger projects, but you’ll also need to work independently to exercise your skills of discretion and independent judgment to successfully complete tasks. You will be a key contributor to administration and business unit management and maintenance tasks. The roll will focus on three key components including, Dolby Cinema, Dolby Institute, and Broadcast activations. Among other engagements, the Global Communications Specialist will:

  • Impact results by developing, supporting and executing PR activities and campaigns focused around Dolby’s Cinema business including Dolby Institute
  • Develop and drive a core broadcast (TV and Radio) program to tell Dolby’s overarching product and entertainment story
  • Draft content including press releases, pitches, blog posts, filmmaker questions for video testimonials, and press outreach
  • Assist with pitching stories, media relations, speaker bureau management, product initiatives, activities, events, and more
  • Collaborate with the Corporate Communications team and Brand Community & Platforms organization
  • Organize and complete project work according to stated priorities
  • Review and analysis of structured problems, selecting the appropriate procedures within a standard context
  • Provide coordination and project management to ensure event success
  • Provide insight into key trends in our industry and monitor competitive products in market
  • Provide insight into competitors press activities
  • Monitor use of existing PR tools
  • Participate in brainstorming, strategy and planning sessions
  • Track and analyze Dolby and competitor media coverage
  • Assist with plans and reports


  • B.A. Degree in Communications or related field preferred
  • 2-3 years of PR experience
  • Strong communications skills, especially writing
  • Experience and/or coursework in journalism, communications, marketing, or media
  • Experience with working with Hollywood, Independent Studios and talent a plus, but not mandatory
  • Experience working with broadcast (TV and Radio) producers and talent a plus, but not mandatory
  • Intellectual curiosity
  • Media savvy with knowledge of social media
  • Ability to explain complex ideas simply and concisely
  • Storytelling chops – know how to tell an irresistible story
  • Interest in consumer technology and/or the entertainment industry including films and/or music a plus but not mandatory
  • Interest and passion for new product launch / go-to-market planning a plus
