Cloud Media Pipeline Orchestration, Staff Software Engineer

The Office of the CTO is spearheading a new, cloud-based strategy for bringing Dolby's existing and upcoming state-of-the-art technologies to customers.

You will be working with talented engineers on a Greenfields opportunity, bringing Dolby's cutting-edge audio and video technologies to the world via Web
APIs, while continually growing your skills as an engineer.

This is a senior technical and developer role which requires deep knowledge of media formats, codecs, subtitles and metadata, along with solid
media processing tools knowledge (FFmpeg, GStreamer, Bento4, etc.), both from a user and a coders perspective, solid node.js experience, and C++ programming skills.

The role demands a candidate capable of doing quality work against technical and schedule challenges in an agile environment, following strong software
design and process principles. You will be working with talented engineers on cutting-edge technologies while continually growing your skills as an engineer.

perfect opportunity for you to help define this exciting new field for Dolby.

Key requirements & attributes for successful applicants include:

B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science, Software Engineering or comparable field.
4+ years' professional experience designing and developing media processing frameworks and pipelines.
4+ years' professional experience with media processing tools such as FFmpeg, GStreamer, Bento4, Shaka packager, mp4box.
2+ years' professional experience with node.js.
Professional experience with coding, scripting, profiling, and debugging node.js, python, shell scripts, and C/C++, on Linux.
Professional hands-on experience with cloud APIs/SDKs (AWS, Azure, GCE)
Solid professional low-level experience with Linux processes, pipes, and network layers
Codec and media algorithm knowledge is desirable.
Ability to understand and contribute to full-stack product needs and requirements.
High level written and verbal communication in both general and technology-specific applications.
