[Beijing] Visual Design Intern

Summary

Join the leader in entertainment innovation and help us design the future. At Dolby, science meets art, and high tech means more than computer code. As a member of the Dolby team, you'll see and hear the results of your work everywhere, from movie theaters to smartphones. We continue to revolutionize how people create, deliver, and enjoy entertainment worldwide. As an Intern, we have a collegial culture – big enough to give you all the resources you need, and small enough so you can make a real difference.

You will be part of the brand content marketing team. Internships typically are 3 months (they can be extended or run for shorter time periods depending upon time of year and how your course is structured).

We hire Graphic Design and Visual Communication Majors who are highly skilled in the Adobe Creative Suite: Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign. Experience with MS Office is a plus. An understanding of typography, composition, color, and form is assumed. Illustration, photography, and animation skills are appreciated but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Assisting a multidisciplinary, creative team (Visual experience, Product and Industrial Design, AV)
  • Building creative presentations showcasing the team's work
  • Prototyping of varying levels of fidelity
  • Gathering resource materials and generating mood boards
  • Generating concepts to be presented to clients

What to Expect

Our interns can expect to gain all the valuable experience that goes with working and designing at a top-tier and award-winning design studio, and will have the opportunity to work closely with designers and directors at different levels, for a variety of clients and projects.

While not assigned to "shadow" a designer, interns will have a supervisor who will help set goals for the interns' growth, provide performance feedback, and answer any questions as needed.

Send us an email introducing yourself. Attach your résumé and work samples as either a PDF or website link. You may also add your references (with contact info) to speed up the process if you like. Previous, relevant internship experience and references are required. Fluency in Mandarin and English is required. Local candidates will be given priority. Candidate needs to be eligible to work in China with a valid resident visa.
