Associate Financial Analyst

Summary

We are seeking Associate Financial Analysts who want to build the foundation for their careers with the Dolby Finance team. The Associate Financial Analysts have the opportunity to use analytical and strategic thinking to provide financial support across all functions (General and Administrative, Sales, Business Groups, Manufacturing, Marketing, etc) and develop relationships within the finance team and across the organization. With the opportunity to rotate every 1-2 years into new roles, the financial analysts have the ability to develop and progress in their careers in roles not limited to Business Finance, Technical Accounting and Financial Reporting, Revenue Accounting, Corporate Accounting, Internal Audit, Tax and Treasury.

Responsibilities include any combination of the following:
  • Analyze financial data, summarize, and provide a concise and meaningful narrative discussion of variances for quarterly reporting, ad hoc analysis and key management reporting deliverables
  • Proactively identify system and process improvements to drive efficiency and effectiveness and propose solutions to complex/ambiguous problems Contribute to the quarter-end close process for the 10-K/Q filings in accordance with SEC guidelines in a timely and accurate manner according to GAAP
  • Establish strong lines of communication within the finance team and with business partners to raise issues and provide insight for decision making
  • Facilitate the preparation, reporting, and analysis of annual plans and quarterly forecasts
  • Assist in developing financial models to support business decisions, significant transactions, and explore financial impacts of potential opportunities


Job Requirements
  • Relevant work experience a plus
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret financial data with excellent analytical and critical thinking skills; identifying trends, interpreting data and translating into actionable information
  • Strong desire to solve problems and enthusiastic about learning
  • Strong written, oral, and presentation communication skills. Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial theory
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint, and other analytical applications (e.g., SAP) a plus
  • Team-oriented and interpersonal skills (ability to collaborate cross functionally)
  • Strong attention to detail


Eligibility
  • Bachelor's degree in Business/Economics with an emphasis in finance or accounting with a strong GPA
  • Expected graduation in May/June 2020 for an anticipated start in Fall 2020
