What This Entails:

Dogfish Head Companies is seeking an Off-Centered Internal Communications Specialist to join our ever-expanding HR team. This is an awesomely unique hybrid role that is equal parts Human Resources and Public Relations. In this role, you will expertly speak the Dogfish language as you seek to inform, enhance and engage with our coworkers about all goings on inside the company. You will serve as the champion of all champions and cheerleader of all cheerleaders when it comes to planning celebrations, company meetings, and get-togethers. Your purpose is to build community within and across all facets of Dogfish, so your communication skills, in particular your ability to write a compelling yet witty email, are of paramount importance. You will also be the Editor-in-Chief of our internal Brew News, our bi-weekly newsletter, and you’ll be responsible for curating off-centered content and news to keep our folks informed and educated. Remember when we said communication skills were important? You’ll play a supporting role in helping our recruiting team with job postings, career fairs and general domination of LinkedIn and JobVite communication. You’ll lend your creative eye to existing internal HR “marketing materials that need a good sprucing, and you’ll liaise with our marketing team to help design the things that we still need. This role is not for the wallflowers out there, as you will be front and center in various capacities presenting to or on behalf of our company and coworkers.

What You Need To Land This Gig:

The qualified candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Communications, Journalism, Business or Marketing or other relevant discipline.  You must have a minimum 3-5 years of experience in Human Resources, recruiting, or corporate communications capacity. You must have exceptional communication skills, including both written and spoken, both individually and in groups.  The ideal person will appreciate and have a hefty sense of urgency and prioritization. The successful candidate will be one who doesn’t speak in terms of human capital and all the other corporate buzz words that give us tummy aches.  A healthy passion for our beer is a huge plus.  A healthy passion for off-centeredness is essential.  If some or all of your experience takes or took place in a manufacturing environment that could be helpful, additionally hospitality industry experience could be a plus.
