What This Entails:


Dogfish Head Companies is seeking an Off-centered HR Operational Manager to provide leadership, management and oversight to the more transactional components of the HR World that are steeped in system and process. While the successful manager should be highly experienced in a full-range of HR areas, your primary areas of oversight will be payroll, compliance, talent management and benefitsThis role will also manage and coordinate the people budgeting process including reporting out to your marvelous management peers.  You will also be asked to use your systems orientation to drive new/improved technologies and spearhead well-vetted, superior-communicated and perfectly executed project plans for our team.  You will evaluate what we do and imagine with our team ways to improve how we accomplish those things.  You will be the obstacle remover that keeps our highly skilled team moving forward with successes.  You will be called upon to model healthy, positive and professional communication in a fun-loving but hard-working environment.  You will oversee the successful completion of official matters, including regulatory agency inquiries and mattersAt Dogfish, HR, in addition to traditional roles, shepherds goodness, builds communities and nurtures our culture.  To that end, you will be called upon to see the gray and challenge your traditional ways of HR thinking along the way.  If process is your bag and all of this sounds like sweet music to your ears then how about we hear from you


What You Need To Land This Gig:


The qualified candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in Biz Admin, HR, Communications or other relevant discipline.  You must have a minimum 8 years progressive HR experience in a generalist capacity—focus on the aforementioned functional areas will make us say, “woo hoo”; a PHR certification would come in handy.  You must have exceptional communication skills, including both written and spoken, both individually and in groups.  Judgment, tact, empathy and confidentiality to the extreme will be expected and required of you and you must be able to deliver.  The ideal person will be outgoing yet organized, comfortable both front-and-center as well as behind the scenes and did we mentioned organized, repeat, organized?  The most successful candidate will also likely count Excel as one of their closest friends.  The successful candidate will be one who doesn’t speak in terms of human capital and all the other corporate buzz words that give us tummy achesA healthy passion for our beer is a huge plus.  A healthy passion for Off-centeredness is essential.  If some or all of your HR experience takes or took place in a manufacturing environment that could be helpful, additionally hospitality industry experience could be a plus
