Online Managing Editor

We are seeking an Online Managing Editor to join our growing company.

The Online Managing Editor will work directly with magazine editors and the Commercial Marine Marketing Director to develop and execute digital content strategy to drive online sales and promote events and conferences for the Commercial Marine team.

You will "dive in" to our industries and translate observations into achievable goals for content development, digital revenue, and conference and event attendance.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Collaboratively develop and execute digital content strategy for commercial marine publications and events.
  • Collaborate with the editors, marketing team, sales team and conference coordinator to create new and repurposed content to drive traffic and leads while serving our target audiences.
  • Oversee digital content development for commercial marine websites, including written and video, white papers, webinars, podcasts, social media efforts, and newsletters, as well as online marketing services.

DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Motivated, deadline-driven, and has two to four years' experience with the B2B or B2C magazines and/or web sites. A bachelor's degree in journalism or marketing is preferred.
  • Understand principles of content strategy, search engine optimization as well as data analysis. Able to understand and translate industry observations into achievable goals for content development, digital revenue, and conference and event attendance.
  • Understanding of various multi-media resources, content management systems, writing for the web and search engine optimization, familiarity with Twitter and LinkedIn, and other social media resources, and a proven track record of conceptualization and execution of strategic digital content programs.
