Strategist-Category &Advertiser Analytic

Position Summary

The Strategist of Category & Advertiser Marketplace Analytics, reporting to the Manager, Competitive Strategy & Marketplace Analytics, will perform the key role of analyzing marketplace data to identify where Ad Sales should focus its efforts in order to maximize revenue. The Strategist will be responsible for supporting strategy development and building the analytics and reports to measure performance against those strategies.



1. Annual Strategy –Support the development of the category and external marketplace insights for the annual DCI revenue strategy
2. Category Strategy
a. Based on data and marketplace trends, identify key categories that will drive value for ad sales and develop strategy to grow, protect, maintain or lower share of the key categories
3. Marketplace Analytics
a. Build framework to determine and report category and advertiser performance
i. The framework will be built into the end-to-end data architecture and be reportable at the most granular level, and rolled up to the executive level
ii. The framework will combine internal data including volume and pricing and be merged with external data in order to evaluate share and relative pricing
b. Build framework to identify high-quality zero-share advertisers and provide actionable direction to the sales team to obtain new business


4+ years of TV Ad Sales experience
Expertise in data and reporting (3+ years)
Expertise in Media Math (3+ years)
Bachelor’s Degree – Masters or MBA preferred
Very strong data and analytical skills required –strong Excel modelling skills
Expertise pulling data from External Data Sources (Lake 5 preferable)
Experience building management reports
Experience pulling data from Business Intelligence tools
