Senior Producer, Branded Content

Position Summary

As a leader on the Branded Content team, the Senior Producer will oversee all aspects of production for assigned in-house and out of house branded productions. Candidates must have a minimum of 6-7 years’ experience working on client-facing branded entertainment projects, with a strong background in web video and broadcast. Candidates must possess an astute editorial instinct and high level of creativity at all stages of production. S/he should be a natural leader, effective problem solver, and hold the capability to effectively lead all aspects of a campaign, production teams, clients, talent, budget and internal stakeholders.

This position is located in Los Angeles, CA.


1. Oversee, Produce, and Direct content for assigned productions within budget and scope
2. Work closely with editorial, business development, sales and clients to provide and uphold creative and editorial direction from pitch to delivery
3. Manage and lead a growing team of Associate Producers, production staff and interns
4. Actively manage multiple productions in varied stages of production (development, pre-production, production, and post)
5. Ensure branded content meets editorial standards and development goals while seamlessly living within the editorial ecosystems of Seeker and Sourcefed
6. Oversee and manage branded content team production schedule; Work with Production Management to coordinate calendars, talent, and resources
7. Book and manage shoot-times and locations; Direct talent and editors as needed; Manage contractors
8. Determine branded video distribution schedule and platform strategy in tandem with the network editorial schedule
9. Develop and manage roster of external production companies
10. Partner with audience development staff to leverage data-driven insights in content development and grow show audience
11. Assist in the research, development, pitch, planning and production of new Discovery Digital Networks branded properties and formats


Minimum 6-7 years of experience producing client-facing Web Video content
Highly creative storyteller with ability to lead and manage projects and staff
Proven track record of making content that is shareable, accessible and sponsor-friendly; keen eye for quality programming
Effective leader, both internally and with client/agency teams across all levels
Passion, focus and a strong worth ethic
Experience managing teams accountable for multiple concurrent productions
Familiarity with digital content sales cycle, experience effectively working with business development, marketing, editorial and client teams
Impeccable communication, interpersonal and organizational skills
Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines while actively managing multiple productions in varied stages of production
Active problem solver with a strong sense of humor, positive attitude, collaborative approach
Familiar and confident with camera operation
Strong network of contacts in creative, institutional, and editorial and agency fields
Proficient with Adobe editing software, preferred but not required
Comprehensive understanding of the competitive set in our digital space, including branded content, native products and media pricepoints within the industry
Bachelor's Degree in a related field
