Production Intern

Position Summary

Discovery Digital Networks (DDN) is seeking a qualified Production intern.

Led by Seeker & SourceFed Studios, Discovery Digital Networks (DDN) connects with millennial audiences through daily shows, weekly series, premium web-docs & live online events. From massive digital distributors, to emerging social platforms and ground-breaking VR content, our programming already dives deep into the future of media. DDN content has made waves across the digital media industry, claiming numerous awards from the Webbys, Shortys, Streamys and many more. With over 300 million monthly views, top online personalities and a growing roster of shows and affiliates, DDN is reaching young, influential audiences around the world, on their terms. Discovery Digital Networks is part of Discovery Communications, the leader in global entertainment.  

Discovery Digital Networks is a wholly owned business of Discovery Communications. This internship will be directly for Discovery Digital Networks, and will not be a part of the Discovery Communications Internship Program.


This is an amazing opportunity for aspiring news producers. The intern will assist producers in all aspects of show production on a daily science or daily news/current events show. The ideal candidate is a highly creative self-starter who can work independently, take direction, and is very detail oriented. Strong research, writing, and coordination skills are a must.


This opportunity is located in San Francisco, CA.



1. Support graphics production for thumbnails
2. Write engaging metadata for show titles and descriptions
3. Assist show teams with show coordination, content research, and general office duties
4. Support producers during studio production and teleprompt
5. Support field productions: research locations, coordinate equipment, gather releases, and more
6. Coordinate and organize supporting documentation: music clearances, release forms, sponsor approvals, etc.


Strong Photoshop skills
Self-starter with the ability to work independently as needed
Strong interest in science, news, and current events is highly preferred
Excellent communication and writing skills
Highly creative
Must be able to commit to a minimum of 16 hours a week or more
Must be enrolled in an accredited college or university, actively pursuing a degree or credentials in a related field
Must be living in the SF Bay area during the internship period
Must have the legal right to work in the United States.
