Supervisor - Publishing Supplier Specialist

Major Purpose:

Manages, coaches, and mentors the team of Publishing Supplier Specialists responsible for handling all the internal support functions that ensure the publishing supplier achieves all key performance indicators; general performance indicators; adheres to quality standards; and complies with the responsibilities as outlined in the supplier contract and Statement of Work (SOW).

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Supervises, directs, and engages in the daily operations of the publishing supplier support team. Closely monitors the production schedule and works with the Publishing Supplier Process Managers to prioritize and plan for workload peaks and valleys or projects requiring special handling, for both the publishing supplier and the support

Promotes effective teamwork and open communication between the publishing support team, the publishing supplier, and other key stakeholders by constantly monitoring the queries, correspondence and interactions; meeting with the publishing supplier and Process Managers on a regular basis; and managing feedback between the teams. Provides key input for the management team for use during the quarterly publisher/supplier partnership meetings.

Works with Production Services, the publishing supplier, and the Process Managers to identify improvement opportunities in workflows or system enhancements to improve efficiencies, quality, and performance that are key to the organization''s success.

Establish and monitor the goals and standards for the support team that ensures the publishing supplier complies with the responsibilities as outlined in the supplier contract and Statement of Work (SOW).

RequirementsMinimum Qualifications:

  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Must successfully complete pre-employment screening process.
  • Must successfully complete any required training or orientation courses.

Additional Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Excellent communication skills, especially with a culturally diverse team.
  • Excellent planning and follow-up skills.
  • Strong negotiation skills, influence skills, as well as conflict management.
  • Proficient knowledge of publishing processes and systems.
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities; Flexible; Remains calm in ambiguous situations.
  • Strong analytical, deductive reasoning, and problem solving skills.

Education, Experience People Management and Travel:

  • Bachelor Degree with a minimum of 5+ year experience with responsibility for direct supervision of one or more employees and travel 5-20% as needed.
