Together the group is responsible for accounting and reporting of Deutsche Bank's US legal entities under US GAAP. In addition, the team works closely with the Global Accounting Close teams to report US results under IFRS and HGB (German GAAP). The Legal Entity teams are responsible for monthly legal entity analytics and to ensure that all transactions are properly recorded in the SAP ledger; RCS (US consolidation system) & BCS (Head Office consolidation) considering US GAAP, IFRS, and HGB. The US financial reporting team is responsible for Deutsche Bank's US GAAP audited annual and quarterly financial statements and footnote disclosures as well as certain supplemental reports. The position will be responsible for providing technical accounting (primarily US GAAP) support to Deutsche Bank Americas financial reporting and disclosure teams.

Your Role

What You'll Do:
  • Work closely with Accounting Policy Group to monitor and assess changes to the US accounting framework and assess relevance to Deutsche Bank Americas legal entities
  • Represent Regional Finance in change projects related to implementation of new accounting standards. For example, lease accounting
  • Responsible for Finance implementation of the new current expected credit loss (CECL) standard including assessment of IFRS 9/CECL gaps from a data and reporting perspective
  • Represent Regional Finance in Credit Risk Committee meetings: responsible for credit reviews and bookings ensuring proper technical accounting and legal entity consideration
  • Represent Regional Finance in New Product Approval (NPA) & New Transactions Approval (NTA) meetings. Focus is reviewing new trades from technical accounting perspective and legal entity reporting considerations
  • Implement financial reporting and process enhancements as appropriate and participate in implementation of new accounting standards

Skills You'll Need:
  • Experience in a similar role within a global universal investment bank or broker dealer or in public accounting experience
  • Excellent US GAAP knowledge with some IFRS knowledge preferred
  • Experience with complex structured transactions and knowledge of all types of universal and investment banking products
  • Must have good time management and prioritization skills to handle multiple transactions in an efficient manner
  • A general understanding of bank capital regulations and their relevance to the accounting framework

Skills That Will Help You Excel:
  • BS Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field. CPA required
  • Experience in external reporting or legal entity reporting experience or equivalent experience in public accounting required
  • An expert in US GAAP with knowledge of IFRS preferred
  • Good memo writing skills documenting accounting conclusions. Experience with communicating complex accounting matters both verbally and in writing to internal and external stakeholders at senior levels
  • Must be able to resolve ambiguous, complex, and multivariable problems; organize/manage multiple projects; and prioritize competing needs
