Position Overview

Role Description - Summary

DBTradeStore provides a platform for the storage, retrieval, and distribution of trade information for a variety of regulatory applications in the Bank.

We develop scalable, resilient, distributed services to handle millions of trades. We use a modern Java technology stack including Java 8, Scala, gradle, and git. Apache Storm, MarkLogic (NoSQL database) and Oracle are at the core of several of our existing services. New services are under development using Akka Streams, Apache Spark and Hadoop.

We develop software using an agile approach with attention to detail and focus on quality. Through code reviews, continuous integration, and automation we iterate quickly and avoid getting bogged down with non-development tasks.

Responsibilities:

  • Autonomously build test plans from requirements
  • Keen eye for software weakness
  • Implement test automation, extending in-house frameworks as required
  • Continually improve the tools and process towards CI/CD
  • Excellent communication and analytical skills
  • Contribute to a sustainable, predictable, free-thinking delivery team
  • Interested in banking, finance, or risk

Experience And Education:
  • Previous relevant experience software development in Java or Scala and hands on Test Automation
  • Good SQL or XQuery knowledge
  • Distributed system and JMS experience preferable
  • Agile development experience preferable
  • BDD, TDD, CI (TeamCity or Jenkins) and ALM tool experience preferable
  • Degree in Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science, or Engineering
