About the Team

DWS is looking to hire a Consultant Relations - Relationship Manager, in the Client Coverage Division. This individual will be responsible for identifying, contacting, and raising capital for DWS products through the Consultant channel. DWS is flexible and dynamic organization. The firm fosters a culture of collaboration, entrepreneurialism, integrity and partnership, both internally amongst colleagues and externally amongst clients and other stakeholders.

The Consultant Relations - Relationship Manager will help clearly position a defined set of investment strategies across alternatives, active and passive within the institutional consulting market. This person will act as a liaison between institutional sales generalists, product specialists and consultant relations. This person is also expected to be agile in addressing asset class and strategy specific questions and it will be crucial for this person to have the ability to communicate complex material in a clear and concise manner.

Key to success in this role will be the ability to partner with consulting firms to position DWS as a partner within their advisory and discretionary businesses. Further, this person will work closely with DWS investment teams to develop and execute on product marketing initiatives designed to build sales momentum and/or defend a critical investment franchises.

Your Key Responsibilities:
  • Work and collaborate with Global Consultant Relations team to manage Consultant outreach
  • Strengthen the organization's relationships with consultants by developing and executing proactive, creative, and ongoing contact
  • Focus on increasing and expanding relationships with global and regional consultants
  • Promote investment strategies through frequent consultant meetings and discussions covering investment philosophy, process, and performance
  • Review & evaluate meaningful investors' allocations across DWS and their connection to consultants
  • Ensure a compelling and comprehensive client experience with reporting, research/ white papers, due diligence / analytics, etc.
  • Gather broad market intelligence and incorporate it into new and existing relationship development plans
  • Ensure we are delivering a consistent / comprehensive approach to ongoing client maintenance within the Consultant channel
  • Work with Relationship Managers, Investment Specialists and Client Service Teams on prospective clients with interest in Real Estate, Liquid Real Assets, Credit, Infrastructure, Passive, and ESG Initiatives

Your Skills & Experience:
  • Minimum 15+ years of related experience
  • Demonstrated track record of achieving goals
  • Previous role in investment consulting, relationship management or consultant relations for Investment Consultant / Asset Management Firm
  • Possess knowledge of alternative investment products and services
  • Deep network of professional contacts in the consultant community
  • Sales professional with high energy, enthusiasm and drive
  • Self-starter who performs well in a highly collaborative team-based culture
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively as part of a team within a broader organization
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to make an immediately positive impression.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to clearly articulate complex concepts, ideas and processes with the presence, maturity and credibility necessary to present effectively to sophisticated institutional investors and internal colleagues
  • Strong conceptual and analytical skills and ability to understand and articulate DWS's investment pitch
  • Ability to coordinate and work in cooperation with other teams across the broader organization
  • Ability to communicate effectively with senior team members
  • Ability to travel

Licenses Required/Preferred:
  • Series 7 and 63
