About the CLO Research Analyst role

DWS's fixed income philosophy assumes that fundamental research, prudent risk management and global coordination with our investment specialists can support persistent excess returns through a variety of investment cycles. A strong global research presence reflects our belief that bottom-up analysis is the foundation of investment performance. This brings an increased level of consistency between security and sector decisions by all participants in the investment process. By using a variety of uncorrelated analyst opinions, we aim to capture the best investment ideas and to improve the risk/reward profile of our clients' portfolios.

Our CLO Research Analyst will cover $1.6 billion in CLO assets and sit on the trading desk to interact with the Traders and PMs on real-time basis. They provide not only internal credit ratings, but also relative value recommendations based upon current market levels and expectations about future credit trends. Lastly, our Research Analysts prepare annual sector outlooks and are expected to have a good working knowledge of their portfolio of assigned credits.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Manager due-diligence and surveillance of existing $1+billion CLO portfolio
  • Provide commentary on sector trends and generate active investment recommendations to the global investment platform.
  • Provide in-depth understanding of CLO documentation trends and their effect on valuation
  • Respond to a variety of client inquires on the issuers covered which will include written responses and possible interaction with the client base.

Your Skills & Experience:
  • Demonstrated CLO Research skills, including 3-5+ years of experience
  • Knowledge of Intex is a plus
  • Strong written and modelling skills
  • Highly effective communication and presentation skills
  • Effectively manage the research responsibilities your portfolio. This will include an active set of issuer recommendations, daily updates on issuers in the primary market and active dialogue with both the PM and Trading teams.
  • Comfort in a collaborative and open investment environment
  • In process or a graduate degree in finance or CFA charter preferred
