Summary

In order to meet the growing demand of the Rates and GCT (Fixed Income, Derivatives) businesses, a Technical QA & Testing Specialist is required to take over QA testing for applications within the Rates and Credit Pre-Trade space, including the TradeGate application.

TradeGate is the front office system for electronic trading of bond and derivative products. TradeGate is the single price source for electronically traded bonds with distribution to multiple different markets and exchanges. It provides a pricing engine, electronic trading and risk management for Fixed Income products. TradeGate is used to fulfil market making obligations, for execution on exchanges, and for negotiation with customers. TradeGate has components for real-time risk, trading P&L, and trade capture.

TradeGate is linked to numerous electronic markets or 3rd party systems (approx 60). Depending on the market some or all of the following functionality is supported: firm quoting, indicative quoting, customer trading, and consumption of market data. TradeGate's key markets include Autobahn, TradeWeb, Eurex, Reuters and Bloomberg.

We are looking for a strong testing skills to automate and execute manual tests for regular software releases of the various components that make up the TradeGate ecosystem. You would have previous relevant testing experience, with financial knowledge/experience preferred.

You will have a mix of strong technical skills with excellent problem solving abilities. Strong communications skills are an absolute must as you will be expected to work with developers to analyze defects and report on testing progress.

The role will include:
  • Setup automated testing where applicable
  • Perform integration testing involving multiple up/downstream systems
  • Create test cases and test plans from scratch
  • Analyze test results and produce detailed issue reports
  • Making sure all QA artifacts are in line with Bank Test Standards
  • Ensuring test environment stability
  • Running regular smoke tests
  • Coordinate and perform non-functional testing (including but not limited to performance testing)
  • Communicating testing issues to developers and project managers

Essential Technical Skills:
  • Quality Center / ALM or similar
  • Working knowledge of SQL and relational databases (Oracle / Sybase, etc)
  • Unix/Linux

Preferable Technical Skills:
  • Experience with HP QTP / UFT and VBScript, or similar
  • TIBCO Rendezvous / JMS / Solace

Education / Qualifications:
  • Undergraduate Degree in a relevant discipline (e.g. computer science, mathematics, physics, engineering, etc) and/or equivalent experience
  • ISTQB Certification in Software Testing (Foundation Level) desirable but not essential

Background / Work Experience Required:
  • Testing and/or test automation experience
  • Financial services experience, ideally Fixed Income product area but consider others with Financial services experience as well
  • You must demonstrate strong commercial aptitude / awareness and have an appreciation of the business drivers for technology
