Role Overview

This Team Lead KYC Client Screening Analysts position ensures vital first level due diligence support for Institutional Cash Management's (ICM's) / Trade Finance Financial Institutions' (TFFI's) Know Your Customer (KYC) program. You will lead a team of Junior and Senior Screening analysts. Today's regulatory and compliance environment requires a robust and efficient KYC process and strong non-financial risk management, making your role an important part of the first line of defense within the business.


  • Functional and disciplinary management of a KYC Client Screening Team for GTB's ICM and / or TFFI business line
  • Hire and onboard new staff
  • Drives compensation and development processes
  • Supports audits and / or regulatory investigations where required
  • Acts as functional and operational specialist and addresses escalations
  • Accountable for the performance of Sanction, Negative Media and Politically Exposed Persons (PEPs) screening of client relationships (entity, legal representatives, shareholders) per current Key Operation Procedures (KOPs)
  • Ensures and supports the investigation and analysis to identify matches and adverse media alerts that require escalation to the line of business (KYC Officers & Accountable Client Owners (ACOs)) and Anti Financial Crime (AFC) /Compliance
  • Ensures that KOP requirements are met and interprets KOP in liaison and agreement with KOP owner, also participates in policy development
  • Drives and supervises development, implementation and maintenance of documentation of the department's and /or team's roles & responsibilities
  • Establishes and maintains close partnership with KYC Officers and ACOs globally

Professional and Personal Requirements:
  • Recognized university degree and/or previous professional experience
  • Specific knowledge/experience with regulatory and/or KYC related topics
  • Very good in presenting and explaining approach and results
  • Very good research and analytical skills
  • Attention to detail, combined with a strategic and proactive work approach
  • Accuracy, diligence and the ability to deliver high quality results within tight deadlines
  • Very good sense of risk awareness
  • Excellent team player with strong work ethics
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships in virtual teams
  • Communicates in a clear, accurate, persuasive and confident manner
  • Able to delegate and supervise
  • Works independently
  • Interested in the financial markets, current events, and news
  • Fluent communication skills in written and spoken English required
