How you'll help us Keep Climbing (overview & key responsibilities)

Delta Air Lines is seeking a Finance Specialist to join its accounting team to assist with spare parts inventory and fixed asset accounting.

Summary of Responsibilities:

  • Have a working knowledge of accounting principles
  • Understand control processes, work directly with internal and external auditors to provide requested information and support, and be able to assist with and perform annual risk assessments
  • Prepare accounting entries through use of data models and research in the SAP financial system
  • Perform asset accounting entries and make inventory adjustments based on analysis of SAP inventory data.
  • Review and document controls and accounting processes, while seeking out opportunities to automate, increase efficiency, and streamline existing processes
  • Perform ad-hoc analysis and data reviews using SAS, HANA, and other data analysis tools.
  • Serves as inventory systems subject matter expert and key Finance liaison for SAP projects at Delta Technical Operations.

What you need to succeed (minimum qualifications)

  • Minimum two years relevant experience.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

What will give you a competitive edge (preferred qualifications)

  • Bachelor's or Advanced Degree in accounting or business
  • Data visualization and reporting skills
  • Experience with Delta's financial tools such as SAP, Oracle, Tableau, Alteryx, Microsoft Suite including Power BI, and/or SQL
