As a DevOps at Delta Air Lines, you will work closely with delivery teams, release management, ensure effective software delivery based upon defined agile values & principles.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES IN THIS ROLE

  • Deployment, automation, management, and maintenance of AWS cloud-based production system.
  • Ensuring availability, performance, security, and scalability of AWS production systems.
  • Management of creation, release, and configuration of production systems.
  • Evaluation of new technology alternatives and vendor products.
  • System troubleshooting and problem resolution across various application domains and platforms.
  • Pre-production acceptance testing for quality assurance.
  • Provision of critical system security by leveraging best practices and prolific cloud security solutions.
  • Providing recommendations for architecture and process improvements.
  • Definition and deployment of systems for metrics, logging, and monitoring on AWS platform.
  • Designing, maintenance and management of tools for automation of different operational processes.
  • Responsible for coordination with cross functional team, service providers and clients to align release schedule and sign off for each release
  • Partner with Scrum team making sure implementation plan set, capturing pre-implementation steps, and post launch steps
  • Communicate to stake holders all release scope and release readiness
  • Pre-production acceptance testing for quality assurance.

What you need to succeed (minimum qualifications)

  • Experience in code development in at least one high-level programming language.
  • Experience with building infrastructure using AWS CDK, CFT.
  • 5+ years of experience of building CICD pipeline using AWS Code pipeline or other similar tech stack.
  • Knowledge of operating system administration.
  • Experience in creation of highly automated infrastructures.
  • Comprehensive knowledge regarding contemporary processes and methodologies for development and operations.
  • Over five years of experience in provisioning, operations, and management of AWS environments.
  • Demonstrated competency with the following AWS services: ECS, EC2, EBS, S3, Glacier, RDS, VPC, Route53, ELB, IAM, CloudFront, CloudFormation, CloudWatch, SQS, SES, Lambda.
  • Proficient in Python, JavaScript programming language and tech stacks.
  • Full software development lifecycle experience.
  • Deep understanding of the Linux operating system and networking concepts.
  • Experience building scalable infrastructure in AWS.
  • Experience with one or more AWS SDKs and/or CLI.
  • Expertise in leveraging Automation / DevOps principles, experience with operational tools, and able to apply best practices for infrastructure and software deployment (Ansible / Puppet / Chef / Saltstack)
  • Consistently prioritizes safety and security of self, others, and personal data.
  • Embraces diverse people, thinking, and styles.
  • Possesses a high school diploma, GED, or high school equivalency.
  • Is at least 18 years of age and has authorization to work in the United States

What will give you a competitive edge (preferred qualifications)

  • 5 years' experience in architecture, design, development, delivery of distributed applications
  • Advanced HAProxy, Nginx, SSH, PostgreSQL configuration and operation experience
  • AWS Certifications.
  • Knowledge of Python, TypeScript, and Lambda.
  • Comfortable using strace/tcpdump in troubleshooting.
  • Experience with Docker containers.
  • Experience architecting and operating systems built with Amazon Web Services
