Technical Project Manager – Internet of Things (IoT)

What We Need

Deloitte Digital’s Internet of Things (IoT) Practice seeks a Technical Project Manager to join our team and lead technical client engagements from project planning through execution.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead engagement planning and budgeting; mobilize and manage engagement teams; define deliverable structure and content; facilitate buy-in of proposed solutions from top management levels at the client; direct on-time, quality delivery of work products; manage engagement economics; manage engagement risk
  • Develop and maintain contact with top decision makers at key clients; organize and lead pursuit teams; participate and lead aspects of the proposal development process; contribute to the development of proposal pricing strategies
  • Identify and solve project-related problems that are technical, business, and resource specific. Facilitate brainstorming sessions, project kick-offs, sprint planning, and retrospectives/post-mortems. Work with cross-functional teams to identify and enact continuous improvements to the project-delivery process.
  • Manage expectations and day-to-day interactions with executive clients and sponsors
  • Perform role of counselor and coach; provide input and guidance into the staffing process; actively participate in staff recruitment and retention activities; provide leadership and support for delivery teams and staff in local offices

What You’ll Have

  • 5+ years of experience leading software engineering teams
  • Experience designing and delivering IoT solutions, including components such as: M2M communications, cloud, sensors, gateways/data ingestion, wireless networks, analytics
  • Experience with Agile delivery methodology, rapid prototyping, scaling prototypes to fully-implemented solutions
  • Working knowledge of cyber security concepts and best practices
  • Working knowledge of edge processing concepts and devices
  • Experience with analytics platforms and knowledge of best practices
  • Experience working with cross-functional project teams responsible for different solution inputs to synthesize and deliver one solution
  • Experience in assessing a broad range of technical solutions and products particularly in digital, networking, edge computing, cloud, integration, and security and privacy
  • Ability to develop solution architecture designs bringing together sensor, security gateways and edge computing, device management platforms, and cloud applications supporting analytics and reporting
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, including presentation skills
  • Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously
  • Willingness to travel 80% of the time
