Tax-Exempt Manager

What you'll do

As a Tax Manager in our Tax-Exempt Tax practice, you will performhigh-level reviews of work papers and tax returns, as well prepare and leadclient meetings on compliance and consulting projects related to tax planningopportunities and the tax implications of transactions to the client.Additionally, you will train, mentor, and supervise new and experienced TaxConsultants and Tax Seniors; you will begin taking on lead client-contactroles, and billing and profitability analysis, on engagements; and you willbegin to be involved in marketplace eminence building and pursuits.

At Deloitte Tax LLP, our Tax-Exempt practice sits within our largePrivate Wealth team. Our overall teamfocuses on the specialized needs of the owners of capital, including familieswith multigenerational wealth, entrepreneurs, closely-held business owners, and,of course, tax-exempt organizations. Qualifications

Required

  • 4+ years of public accounting experience (at least 3 years working with non-profit/tax-exempt clients) or equivalent in law firms or industry
  • CPA or member of the bar
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or other business-related field
  • Experience reviewing tax-exempt documents
  • Experience managing projects including scheduling, budgeting, client correspondence, and billing
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
  • Excellent research and writing skills

Preferred

  • Advanced degree such as MST or LLM
  • Prior Big 4 experience helpful but not required
  • Knowledge of tax-exempt accounting
