Solution Manager

Deloitte Consulting LLP seeks a Solution Manager in Dallas, TX and various unanticipated Deloitte office locations and client sites nationally.

Work You’ll Do

Provide technology-enabled consulting services to clients. Expand or modify system to serve new purposes or improve work flow. Test, maintain, and monitor computer programs and systems, including coordinating the installation of computer programs and systems. Develop, document and revise system design procedures, test procedures, and quality standards. Provide staff and users with assistance solving computer related problems, such as malfunctions and program problems. Review and analyze computer printouts and performance indicators to locate code problems, and correct errors by correcting codes. Consult with management to ensure agreement on system principles. Confer with clients regarding the nature of the information processing or computation needs a computer program is to address. Coordinate and link the computer systems within an organization to increase compatibility and so information can be shared. Determine computer software or hardware needed to set up or alter system. Assess the usefulness of pre-developed application packages and adapt them to a user environment. Analyze information processing or computation needs and plan and design computer systems, using techniques such as structured analysis, data modeling and information engineering. Define the goals of the system and devise flow charts and diagrams describing logical operational steps of programs. Recommend new equipment or software packages. Prepare cost-benefit and return-on-investment analyses to aid in decisions on system implementation. Use the computer in the analysis and solution of business problems, such as development of integrated production and inventory control and cost analysis systems. Specify inputs accessed by the system and plan the distribution and use of the results. Use object-oriented programming languages, as well as client and server applications development processes and multimedia and Internet technology. Utilize Erwin to create logical and physical data models for data warehouses and create relational models, normalized models, and star schemas based in Teradata, Netezza, Oracle, and DB2 databases. Create estimations and project plans for scope of work to be presented to clients based on SDLC utilizing Informatica Lifecycle Management and Metadata Manager. Develop software system testing and validation procedures, programming and documentation. Utilize Informatica PowerCenter to design and develop multifaceted Informatica mappings. Evaluate the organization’s technology needs and recommend improvements, such as hardware and software upgrades. Design and develop scripts using Teradata tools and utilities, including BTEQ, TPT, Fast Load, MultiLoad, and Teradata SQL Assistant. Deliver components of client engagements that identify, design and implement technology and creative business solutions for large companies. Design and develop business objects reports utilizing WEBI Client and Universe Design. Obtain and evaluate information on factors such as reporting formats required, costs, and security needs to determine hardware configuration. Utilize Oracle and DB2 databases in conjunction with TOAD and IBM Data Studio Design to develop stored procedures and loader utilities. Analyze client needs and requirements to determine feasibility of design within time and cost constraints.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Engineering (any), Computer Science, MIS, CIS or a related field.
  • Five years of experience providing technology-enabled consulting services to clients on behalf of a global consulting company.
  • Must have five years of experience with:
  • Utilizing Erwin to create logical and physical data models for data warehouses and create relational models, normalized models, and star schemas based in Teradata, Netezza, Oracle, and DB2 databases;
  • Creating estimations and project plans for scope of work to be presented to clients based on SDLC utilizing Informatica Lifecycle Management and Metadata Manager;
  • Utilizing Informatica PowerCenter to design and develop multifaceted Informatica mappings;
  • Designing and developing scripts using Teradata tools and utilities, including BTEQ, TPT, Fast Load, MultiLoad, and Teradata SQL Assistant;
  • Designing and developing business objects reports utilizing WEBI Client and Universe Design; and
  • Utilizing Oracle and DB2 databases in conjunction with TOAD and IBM Data Studio Design to develop stored procedures and loader utilities.
  • In the alternative, the employer will accept a Master’s degree in a stated field plus three years of experience.
  • 80% travel required.
