Solution Engineer

Deloitte Consulting LLP seeks a Solution Engineer in Lake Mary, FL and various unanticipated Deloitte office locations and client sites nationally.

Work You'll Do

Support and coordinate data extraction, mapping and conversion tasks. Convert Enterprise Resource Planning data such as PeopleSoft, SAP and Oracle HR into the Workday format. Write scripts to automate data conversion. Identify key drivers of a defined problem and propose solutions. Perform analysis and effective diagnosis of a client's issues. Select the most relevant tools and techniques to meet specific client requirements. Develop and share reusable assets that can be readily applied to new client projects. Demonstrate accountability and contribution to the successful realization of client goals. Gather and analyze requirements and create, document, test and communicate integration standards for system implementations using Unified Modeling Language (UML) tools. Work with teams to convert customers' legacy system data into new systems by utilizing SQL Loaders and UNIX scripts. Write and execute test scripts, create reports, identify and log defects, communicate defect priorities, and resolve technical issues using HP Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) tools, including HP Quality Center (QC). Perform unit testing based on pre-defined test cases. Perform systems programming by utilizing Java, JavaScript, C, C++, XML, XSLT and WebServices to format data according to client and third-party vendor requirements. Create proposals, work plans and timely reports on deliverable schedules and team progress using MS Visio, MS Excel, MS Word and MS PowerPoint. Formulate plans to facilitate knowledge transfer between the implementation team and the long-term client support team and deliver training on the uniquely configured client system to support teams.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent degree in Computer Science, Engineering (any), Information Technology, CIS, MIS or related field.
  • Must have one year of experience providing data conversion and integration services on behalf of a global consulting company.
  • Must have one year of experience with:
  • Gathering and analyzing requirements and creating, documenting, testing and communicating integration standards for system implementations using UML tools;
  • Converting customers' legacy system data into new systems by utilizing SQL Loaders and UNIX scripts;
  • Writing and executing test scripts, creating reports, identifying and logging defects, communicating defect priorities, and resolving technical issues using HP ALM tools, including HP QC;
  • Performing unit testing based on pre-defined test cases;
  • Performing systems programming by utilizing Java, JavaScript, C, C++, XML, XSLT and WebServices to format data according to client and third-party vendor requirements;
  • Creating proposals, work plans and timely reports on deliverable schedules and team progress using MS Visio, MS Excel, MS Word and MS PowerPoint; and

  • 15% travel required.
