Software Engineer- Perceptive Software

Work you'll do

As a Specialist Master our practice you will:

  • Provide Subject Matter Expert level knowledge to drive technology solution development and integration across the SDLC including requirements, functional specs, design, custom development, integration, testing, and deployment
  • Organize and deliver services on a cross-section of projects
  • Maintain your technical knowledge within the industry leverage this subject matter knowledge on client engagements
  • Contribute to the development and cultivation of business and vendor relationships
  • Serve as a "Subject Matter Expert", adding interpretive value to data presented or experienced insight into a functional process or issue
  • Display leadership and business judgment by anticipating client and project needs and developing alternative solutions
  • Provide consulting and technical engineering services on Perceptive Software (Enterprise Content Management) products
  • Provide expertise and recommendations on system architecture, engineering, and integration
  • Assist with the implementation of web services integration
  • Assist with the deployment of Platform upgrades
  • Consult on the re-architecture of existing projects ("Solutions") that integrate with the Platform
  • Implement and configure components of the Platform, and provide feedback on project pitfalls
  • Assist in resolving project issues through interacting with product support or via work-arounds/re-design of solution components
  • Advise on integrating existing Platform components into other areas of the Enterprise
  • Assist in the creation of Documentation with regards to solution deployments
  • Advise on mitigation steps to be taken in the case of a system outage

Our Federal SI team manages the complexity inherent with technology change, from requirements planning to architecture, testing to deployment, and beyond. We also offer a complete range of industry-leading services, including systems development, solution and platform integration, and program management, functional, and testing services.



  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems Management, Mathematics, Engineering, or a computer-related field.

In lieu of a Bachelor's Degree:

  • An Associate's Degree, combined with an additional two (2) years of relevant experience can be substituted or,
  • An additional four (4) years of relevant experience can be substituted.
  • 2+ years in a technical or functional lead role
  • Experience with developing eminence, thought ware and point-of-view materials
  • Proven leadership skills demonstrating strong judgment, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities
  • Experience managing senior-level client relationships
  • Experience presenting to clients or other decision makers to present and sell ideas to various audiences (technical and non-technical)
  • Pre-sales, proposal, and RFP experience
  • Strong understanding of SDLC methodologies (Agile, SCRUM, RUP, other)
  • Proven experience effectively prioritizing workload to meet deadlines and work objectives
  • Experience in implementing large-scale custom development and/or systems integration projects in one or more phases of the SDLC
  • Experience working with business users to gather requirements, writing functional and technical specifications and communicating technical requirements
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a TS SCI with Polygraph
  • Experience with design and process documentation
  • Experience with unit testing IT applications


  • Operating systems: Microsoft Windows, UNIX (Solaris, HP/UX, AIX, Linux)
  • Database systems: Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle
  • Understanding of network connectivity
  • Virtualization Platforms: VMware, Hyper-V, OVM
  • Internet technologies: Tomcat, IIS, WebSphere, WebLogic, SSL
  • Programming concepts: JavaScript, VBScript, SQL, COM, HTML, Web Services (RESTful & SOAP)
  • Software Implementation experience
  • 2-4 years of VB or JavaScript experience
  • Extensive SQL query experience
  • MS SQL Server and /Or Oracle experience
  • OCR (Optical Character Recognition) Experience
