S&O Finance Consulting Senior Manager

Deloitte financial consultants are working with CFOs to gather, interpret, and deliver the insights that shape timely and smart decisions throughout the C-suite. We can help them build a finely balanced set of innovative capabilities across strategy, operations, analytics, performance management, talent and reporting.

Work you'll do

Help CFO's and Finance Executive's elevate their role through innovative strategies, planning and tactical execution. You will have the ability to apply and develop your experience in the areas of Finance Business Partnering, Finance Service Delivery Model, Finance Performance Management, Finance Process Improvement, Finance Strategy, and Corporate Transactions. As a Senior Manager, you are expected to contribute to the firm's growth and development in a variety of ways. You will be responsible for engagement management: Lead engagement planning and budgeting; mobilize and manage engagement teams; define deliverable structure and content; facilitate buy-in of proposed solutions from top management levels at the client; direct on-time, quality delivery of work products; manage engagement economics; manage engagement risk. Senior Managers manage day to day interactions with executive clients and sponsors. You will be expected to participate in Business Development, develop and maintain contact with top decision makers at key clients; organize and lead pursuit teams; participate and lead aspects of the proposal development process; contribute to the development of proposal pricing strategies. Senior Managers must contribute to Practice Development & Eminence: Develop practical solutions and methodologies; develop "thoughtware" and "point- of-view" documents; participate in public speaking events; get published in industry periodicals. We invest in our people, as a Senior Manager you will be responsible for people development, performing the role of counselor and coach; provide input and guidance into the staffing process; actively participate in staff recruitment and retention activities; provide leadership and support for delivery teams and staff in local offices.

Senior Manager Qualifications

A candidate must meet the minimum experience in one or more of the below:

Must have a minimum of 8 years Finance Strategies or Finance Service Delivery:

  • Finance capability assessment
  • Strategic planning
  • Capital allocation strategy
  • CFO onboarding
  • Finance visioning and road map development
  • Finance cost reduction
  • Finance competency and organization design
  • Finance shared services and F&A outsourcing strategy development.

Must have a minimum of 8 years in FP&A. Experience must include:

  • Budgeting
  • Planning and Forecasting
  • Financial Analytics
  • Performance score carding
  • Management reporting
  • Finance information strategy processes
  • Key performance indicator (KPI) design

Must have a minimum of 8 years in Finance Operations. Experience must include:

  • Process improvements for order to cash, procure to pay, record to report, close, consolidate, report, etc.
  • Finance controllership
  • Corporate governance
  • Identifying transactional vs. analytical
  • Capital productivity

Must have a minimum of 8 years in M&A Finance. Experience must include:

  • Pre-deal assessment
  • Carve-outs/stand-ups
  • Pre-IPO readiness
  • Pre-merger day 1 readiness
  • Post-merger integration
  • Financial Reporting & Consolidation

Additional Requirements:

  • A Bachelor's Degree is required.
  • Ability to travel 80-100% required.

Preferred:

  • Ability to work independently, manage small engagements or parts of large engagements.
  • Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills with the ability to exercise mature judgment.
  • Willingness to mentor junior staff.
  • An advanced degree is preferred
