SI Banking AML - Senior Manager

As a Project Management/Functional Senior Manager, you help clients set-up, manage, and operate their most complex projects, define functional requirements for technology solutions, and design and derive transformative approaches for technology systems.

Work you'll do

As a leader in our Financial Services- Banking (AML) practice, you manage work threads across one or more engagement teams to create software solutions that help our clients solve problems, expand market share, improve operations, and grow their business.

  • Lead engagement planning and budgeting; mobilize and manage engagement teams; define deliverable structure and content; facilitate buy-in of proposed solutions from top management levels at the client; direct on-time, quality delivery of work; manage engagement economics; manage engagement risk
  • Manage day to day interactions with executive clients and sponsors
  • Develop and maintain contact with top decision makers at key clients; organize and lead pursuit teams; participate and lead aspects of the proposal development process; contribute to the development of proposal pricing strategies
  • Develop practical solutions and methodologies; develop "thoughtware" and "point-of-view" documents; participate in public speaking events; get published in industry periodicals
  • Perform role of counselor and coach; provide input and guidance into the staffing process; actively participate in staff recruitment and retention activities; provide leadership and support for delivery teams and staff in local offices.

Senior Managers in the Financial Services- Banking (AML) practice are required to have:
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements and industry "best practices" for anti-money laundering programs as a regulator, AML compliance officer in a financial institution or consultant
  • Responsible for understanding how reference data is used with the client and will be instrumental in requirements, design and implementation of AML technologies
  • Assist clientsby evaluating their current AML systems to identify whether their goals are being met with respect to data availability, costs and regulatory initiatives
  • Advising financial services companies on the design and implementation of comprehensive AML Programs (i.e., organizational structure, policies and procedures, risk assessment, technology resources, management information systems, etc.)
  • Experience with AML Technologies including custom solutions and vendor solutions to support due diligence, transaction monitoring, customer risk scoring
  • 10 years of relevant consulting or industry experience
  • A minimum of 6 full life cycle implementations
  • 6+ years experienced in managing large program and project teams through all phases of the project lifecycle from scoping and planning, requirements gathering, design, development, testing, and go live. This effort can be within a management consulting environment or industry.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or other project/program management training
  • At least4 years of program and project scheduling development using MS Project, Evolve/Pro sight (Primavera), or other schedule management packages.
  • Must have 6+ years of experience with issue and risk management and mitigation
  • Transaction algorithm and alert criteria
  • Technology architecture
  • Data requirements
  • Experience with AML system implementations and an understanding of the unique challenges encounter during an AML system implementation
  • Experience with verifying the completeness and accuracy of AML system alert logic
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
  • A willingness to travel 80 - 100% of the time

In addition, successful Senior Managers will have the following preferred background:
  • 4+ years in change management
  • At least 4 years of experience in documenting standard operating procedures, participating in process reviews and awareness of quality functions
  • Possess strong understanding of software development methodologies (RUP, Agile or other SDLC methodologies).
  • Sequencing and critical path management expertise
  • Awareness of Six Sigma, CMMI, other process improvement techniques and change management procedures is desired.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, including presentation skills (MS Visio,MS PowerPoint).
  • Experience in one or more requirements definition and elicitation techniques including use case modeling, joint application development (JAD), feature oriented domain analysis (FODA),accelerated requirements method(ARM)
  • Experience in one or more prototyping techniques including rapid and evolutionary prototyping.
  • Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Detail oriented.
  • Exercises mature judgment.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of team.
  • Willingness to mentor junior staff in technical areas.
  • Strong analytical and technical skills.
