Position Summary
Our Deloitte Strategy & Transactions team helps guide clients through their most critical moments and transformational initiatives. From strategy to execution, this team delivers integrated, end-to-end support and advisory services covering valuation modeling, cost optimization, restructuring, government operations modernization, business design and transformation, infrastructure and real estate, mergers and acquisitions (M&A), and sustainability. Work alongside clients every step of the way, helping them navigate new challenges, avoid financial pitfalls, and provide practical solutions at every stage of their journey-before, during, and after any major transformational projects or transactions.

As the senior perception engineer, you will develop and deploy custom AI models and perception algorithms to enable unmanned vehicles to operate autonomously in complex and potentially contested environments for our government and commercial customers.
• Develop and refine custom machine learning models and techniques for 3D object recognition, classification, and tracking in real-time.
• Lead the development and validation of perception modules, including data collection, labelling, and testing.
• Design, implement, and optimize perception algorithms for sensor fusion, object detection, tracking, and scene understanding.
• Optimize perception systems for real-world deployment, ensuring robustness and reliability under diverse environmental conditions.
• Collaborate with software engineers, hardware engineers, QA engineers, and data scientists to integrate perception capabilities into a complete autonomous system.
• Stay up to date with the latest advancements in perception technologies and machine learning, and evaluate how they can be applied to enhance the product.
• Contribute to code reviews, technical documentation, and best practices for the perception team.

Qualifications
Required:
• Master's degree in Computer Science, Robotics, Electrical Engineering or related field required (Ph.D. preferred)
• 5+ years of experience in perception, computer vision, robotics, or related fields
• 5+ years of experience with deep learning frameworks (Tensorflow, PyTOrch, TensorRT, etc.) for real-time edge computer vision tasks.
• Demonstrated experience with sensor fusion techniques and perception systems
• Demonstrated experience in 3D object detection, tracking, segmentation, SLAM and scene understanding
• Strong understanding of statistical models, machine learning algorithms, probabilistic robotics, and optimization techniques
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python and C++
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future
• Must be able to obtain and maintain the required clearance for this role
• Ability to travel 10%, on average, based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you serve
Preferred:
• Familiarity with perception-related software libraries (OpenCV, PCL, ROS, etc.)
• Experience with performance optimization, real-time systems, and hardware integration
• Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate in a cross-functional team environment
