Role Description

The BP&A Business Partner organizations provide specialized finance-related services in support of the business leaders of the firm.

The Finance Manager will support the Business Partner organization in meeting the financial demands and needs of their designated business. This role will support Deloitte's Market Development group. Emphasis will be on driving effective P&L management while providing transparency of expected performance during the forecasting as well as planning processes. Additional focus will be on supporting the channel on executing their strategic operational objectives.

Job Responsibilities

In providing finance-related services to the business, the Finance Manager will support in the following areas:

  • Manage period and year-end financial close in SAP
  • Explain, present and analyze the financial performance of the business
  • Deliver timely financial analytics, reporting, and business counsel to effectively measure business performance against strategic priorities
  • Coordinate and execute with Finance COE (Shared Service) for financial reporting and transactional activities
  • Support an efficient and effective planning and forecasting process in BPC that produces accurate, achievable plans and forecasts that align with business's strategic objectives
  • Provide meaningful, actionable insights, advice, and recommendations on historic and the future financial performance to the Business' leadership
  • Support the business leader to successfully implement the business strategy
  • Support initiatives to help the business in achieving its strategic objectives
  • Continuously improve BP&A's organizational efficiency and effectiveness by leading internal change initiatives as part of the BP&A leadership team
  • Participate in team and finance meetings/ communications
  • Participate in training and development

Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance or related subject. Advanced business degree or CPA preferred.

Experience Requirements

  • Minimum of 5+ years of relevant finance experience, preferably in a professional services firm (consulting client service experience preferred)
  • Demonstrated accomplishments in the following areas:
  • Extensive experience with Financial Reporting and Analysis and Planning
  • Deep understanding of accounting and finance transactions
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Problem solving skills, self-starter
  • Quality and risk management

Technology or Other Requirements

  • Preferred understanding of SAP, BPC, Essbase and other financial applications
  • Advanced in Excel, PowerPoint and Word
