Junior Finance Developer – Business Information and Technology

Key Role Description

This Finance Technology Developer role designs, develops, implements, and maintains .Net applications and SQL Server database solutions. The developer would be expected to work with the business owner to define the requirements of each project and translate those requirements into a system design and then develop the database and .net objects required to deliver a solution that meets those requirements.

  • Possess financial acumen to guide solution design to meet financial analysis needs
  • Work with business owners to understand and document requirements
  • Create technical specifications and test plan
  • Utilize established development tools, guidelines and conventions including but not limited to ASP.Net, SQL Server, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and C#/VB.Net
  • Design, code and test new web software application
  • Develop back-end SQL data to support applications
  • Enhance existing systems by analyzing business objectives, preparing an action plan and identifying areas for modification and improvement
  • Maintain existing software systems by identifying and correcting issues
  • Investigate and develop skills in new technologies

Job Responsibilities

  • Develop familiarity with information across multiple internal systems and technical capabilities
  • Responsible for project documentation, status reporting, and work planning
  • Gather and document project requirements from a combination of clients and BIT CoE Managers and Senior Managers
  • Create and own process documentation for technical processes
  • Design test scripts and test cases for new report packages and enhancements to existing reports
  • Design and develop basic SQL DTS & SSIS packages
  • Exposure to the operation and analysis of relational database software and standards, as well as data retrieval methodologies (SSIS)
  • Obtain and extract information required for analysis from Firm systems
  • Respond to enhancements requests and issue resolution requiring advance technical skills (e.g. SSIS, SSRS, .Net, etc.)
  • Design flow charts and work flow diagrams for technical processes
  • Create data-marts to act as authoritative source for new solutions


Education / Experience Requirements:

  • 2-4 years of experience and Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Information Management
  • Experience working with company financial data and metrics
  • Experience working both independently and with teams
  • Experience working remotely
  • Demonstrated accomplishments in the following areas:
  • Problem solving skills
  • Project management
  • Quality and risk management
  • Business process improvement

  • Proven experience with information management and relational data concepts
