Heat Head of Agency Marketing - NYC

We're growing, and seeking a Head of Agency Marketing in the Marketing department.

What you'll do
The Head of Agency Marketing is responsible for leading the agency's own go-to-market efforts and supporting the individual needs of both the NY and SF offices. This includes strategizing around how and where Heat shows up to prospective clients and the industry at large. By bringing together how we position (and activate) ourselves to attract new business and how we communicate our brand in the press and at home, the Head of Agency Marketing will bring Heat to market with one clear, unique and cohesive strategy. Ultimately, this person is the standard bearer for the Heat brand.

The Head of Agency Marketing will be supported by an integrated team across new business and all marketing fronts.

RESPONSIBILITIES

There are three primary responsibilities of this role:

1) Define the way in which the Heat brand presents itself in the marketplace (how, where, and when we show up) to clients, talent, and employees.

The result of which is a strategic, effective marketing go-to-market plan and operational structure that spans from PR to paid media to awards to social.

2) Operationalize the internal Heat team that will bring to life the marketing plan that's been created.

Supported by an integrated team, the Head of Agency Marketing will be responsible for operationalizing and managing the leads for PR, Sales, Social Media, and Owned Channels.

3) Structure, activate, and lead the agency's new business strategy and operational engine. Defining and operationalizing our new business pipeline, process, and pursuits.

The result of which is a strategic vision for how we structure our multi-faceted new business pipeline, and operational accountability for the systematic, rigorous process machine that should be built around the discipline.

New Business:

  • Responsible for designing and implementing a complete new business plan, including the protocol for working on new business within the agency as well as developing a plan for prospect and consultant outreach.
  • "With Partners and Managing Director, the Head of Agency Marketing be an integral part of all meetings with pitch consultants, driving both the development and the presentation of Heat's capabilities to this important audience.
  • Develop on-going relationships with pitch consultants.
  • Leading the new business team to field and respond appropriately to all new business inquiries as appropriate, and be the primary point of contact throughout the new business pipeline.
  • Shepherd the process of attaining new business from RFP to contract.
  • Explore areas of growth as it pertains to current clients, as well as potential new clients across the full range of Heat's offerings.
  • Help senior executives foster relationships throughout the industry to raise the profile of Heat and thus increase referrals.
  • Upon signing of new clients, the Head of Agency Marketing will work closely with other agency leadership to staff, on-board, and transition new accounts onto the Heat roster.
Communications:
  • Responsible for designing and operationalizing the agency's marketing plan, across channels and audiences. From PR to Social - how, when, where, and to whom the Heat brand shows up for.
  • Work with the Head of PR to create a consistent pipeline of media coverage that builds to the larger strategic narrative around the Heat brand.
  • Work with the executive team to make executive communications a focus for Heat's communications strategy. This includes both public-facing opportunities as well as how they communicate to internal and client audiences.
  • Work with the Head of PR to develop a plan to manage and curate client and executive experiences at industry events
  • Work with the Head of Talent to ensure that communications to both current and potential Heaters are in line with the overall Heat brand strategy.
  • Work with the Head of Strategy to define a strategy for award show entries.
  • Work with the social media team and comms team to maintain and support the agency's digital presence, including the website, blog and social media.

In sum, whatever the Heat brand touches will be under the purview of the Head of Agency Marketing. This person will work to unify all of our internal and external messaging, making sure that these disparate touch points are in lockstep with the overall Heat marketing strategy.

Qualifications

Required:
  • Ability to travel up to 50% between SF and NY offices
  • 9+ years of experience required

Preferred:
  • Bachelor degree preferred
  • Relevant agency experience ideal
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented with a complete focus on quality results/deliverables.
