A Discovery Manager can expect to:

  • Oversee the day-to-day activities on client engagements
  • Compile findings and recommendations and implementation plans
  • Prepare and present oral and written reports and presentations
  • Define resource requirements and project budgets.
  • Handle billing and collections
  • Supervise and train associates and senior associates
  • Develop and maintain client relationships and ensure client satisfaction
  • Network to identify and sell potential new services or expand existing engagements
  • Participate in RFP responses, engagement letters and Statements of Work
  • Participate in industry conferences and tradeshows and author articles
  • Participate in initiatives to improve the capabilities of the practice

Discovery Manager Qualifications

Required

  • 5+ years of Discovery/Discovery Consulting experience
  • Demonstrated experience in the Discovery lifecycle including document collection, processing, review and production
  • 2+ year's experience working with Relativity
  • Communicate effectively to all levels of engagement management
  • Balance multiple client projects and other responsibilities
  • Strong ability to properly delegate work load
  • Demonstrated ability to provide services involving accounting and business consulting projects; participate in client presentations
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Must be absolutely flexible with the 50% travel requirements of client service projects
  • Professional demeanor and strong communication skills, both written and oral
  • Bachelor Degree

Preferred

  • Understanding of corporate law department operations
  • Understanding of e-discovery processes and tools and systems
  • Information governance and document retention in the context of e-discovery
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to multitask
  • Ability to describe complex technical concepts and ideas in non-technical terms
  • Ability to provide strategy and operations design and implementation services
  • Experience in professional services firm preferred
  • The ability to describe complex technical concepts and ideas to in non-technical terms
  • Balance multiple client projects and other responsibilities
  • Experience in professional services firm
