Sales Support Specialist, DC Enabling Senior Consultant (PCOE, Proposal Factory)

The U.S. Proposal Factory team, part of the U.S. Consulting Pursuit Center of Excellence (PCOE), is looking to fill a Senior Consultant level Sales Support Specialist position. Since this is a virtual role, the individual hired could be based out of one of the Proposal Factory's currently staffed office locations (Atlanta, Washington DC) or another Deloitte office. Face-to-face meetings should take place to build a relationship with the team, ensure responsibilities are understood, and to ensure quality review mechanisms are established. Because of frequent interaction with team counterparts in India, ability to collaborate with them across time zones is highly desirable.

Work You'll Do:

This individual will be responsible for developing and executing operational initiatives to enhance the delivery capabilities of the team. The Sales Support Specialist will work directly within the Proposal Factory, supporting the broader PCOE members to develop first draft proposals, as well as pursuit teams across U.S. Consulting. The Sales Support Specialist is responsible for supporting the development of content repositories to improve efficiency, effectiveness, and overall quality of pursuit deliverables.

Specific responsibilities include:

Support proposal development activities

Work with other PCOE team members to assess existing proposal content and other firm information to develop the initial proposal draft

Research multiple sources of content and liaise with team members to seek firm-specific content, to include practitioner counts, firm and practice profiles, and risk and legal questions

Provide writing and editorial review of content for style, usability, and readability, including synthesizing content brought together from multiple sources

Be committed to continuous improvement as we establish and grow the virtual support model

Support the further development of the PCOE sales and pursuit content repository

Facilitate collection, review, editing, and upload of pursuit content for inclusion in the PCOE content repository (Qvidian)

Facilitate the continuous improvement of sales content

Execute review procedures to keep content current and accurate

The Team

The U.S. Consulting Pursuit Center of Excellence (PCOE) team is dedicated to the success of the firm's sales efforts as they are defined by Deloitte Consulting leadership. The team supports sales success by driving continuous improvement in sales effectiveness which is executed through two channels:

1) Commitment to bring the best resources and capabilities to pursuits, and

2) Applying lessons learned to enhance learning and development of client service staff.

The team works with client pursuit teams to refine the sales strategy, establish and execute an organized pursuit plan, and deliver a high quality and innovative proposal and orals presentation. Value is delivered through challenging and improving the sales process to free the client service team to focus on the client problem and our solution. To extend services more broadly across Consulting, the PCOE established a virtual sales support organization, called the Proposal Factory.

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree
  • 5-6 years of work experience, to include 2 years in a related field
  • Consulting research and writing background preferred

Key Skills/Prior experience:

  • Analytical thinker able to analyze and interpret sales related questions and inquiries
  • Strong research skills and ability to perform queries across multiple resources, including quantitative and qualitative sources
  • Experience in strategy, operations or technology services consulting
  • Demonstrated exceptional writing skills
  • Ability to synthesize multiple sources of information into clean, succinct paragraphs
  • Extensive knowledge of MS Word and MS PowerPoint
  • Experience with Qvidian (preferred)
