Role description

Technology is an exciting and thriving competency within our Consulting practice. We have a diverse practice with around 1700 people working on challenging engagements across a wide portfolio of clients, and operating from many offices around the UK. Our breadth and depth of expertise enables us to work with FTSE 100 clients to help define, shape and successfully deliver some of their most complex technology projects. Our Analysis capability group is the home to people with the skills and experience to work across the full lifecycle of technology projects combined with a depth of knowledge across industry. Business Analysis is fundamental to ensuring that technology enables meaningful business solutions and drives tangible benefits realisation. Business Analysis operates across the lifecycle of a programme, bringing together strategic intent with technical and commercial feasibility and defines, documents and assesses the options available to resolve complex business challenges.

Responsibilities

Your role will focus on providing expert advice and the management and delivery of client engagements, as well as internal sales and practice development activity. You will have responsibilities for:

  • Advising our clients on technology challenges, identifying and delivering solutions
  • Understanding the technology, vendors and industries in which our clients operate
  • Performing and supporting activities on Analysis engagements
  • Producing and presenting reports, strategies, plans, designs, business cases and other client deliverables
  • Supporting proposal development and the continued growth of the business through contributing to practice development (e.g. supporting the development of propositions, training, marketing, communications and recruitment activities)

For manager grade, you must have a:

  • broader perspective of potential issues encountered when managing diverse teams and the strategies to overcome them; have a clear understanding of the firm's commitment to creating a more inclusive culture

Requirements

To qualify for the role you must be able to demonstrate skills and experience in the following:

  • Shaping and delivering technology-enabled change programmes
  • Assessment of an organisation's IT landscape and development of technology investment cases and roadmaps that align with business goals
  • Experience in aligning an organisation's IT strategy with its overall business strategy and goals
  • An understanding of emerging and innovative technologies, for example Cloud, and how to shape IT strategy and delivery in order to leverage those technologies
  • Documentation, analysis and development of current and future state business processes
  • Detailed analysis, specification and management of business and technology requirements – including package specification and selectip>
  • Specification of requirements and evaluation for vendor and package selection
  • Assessment, definition and implementation of operating models for IT organisations
  • Commitment to travel to client locations and the right to live and work in the UK
  • A good graduate degree (1st or Upper Second) from a reputable university

Additional desirable experience includes:

  • Familiarity with industry-recognised methodologies (e.g. TOGAF)
  • Post-graduate experience – either consulting or in one or more of the following industries: Financial Services, Public Sector (Central and /or Local and Regional Government, Healthcare and Education), Consumer Goods, Retail, Manufacturing, Life Sciences, Energy and Utilities, Telecoms, Media, Technolop>

Consulting Solutions pathway – pathway where there is greater focus on building skills and deep expertise in a specific domain. Practitioners have a narrow focus, determined by their SME and type of contribution made

Consulting Services pathway – pathway for people whose career is built around the delivery of managed services to clients (either internal or external)
