Work you'll do

As a Senior Manager within our Service Operations team, you will:

  • Organize and deliver services on a cross-section of complex projects
  • Design and optimize business processes in support of overall business operations and technology enablement, utilization and adoption
  • Responsible for the development of business and vendor relationships
  • Lead pursuit teams focused on new opportunities and lead major aspects of the proposal development process
  • Responsible for project(s) financials including development of financial plans
  • Lead day-to-day interactions with executive clients and Deloitte team
  • Establish relationships in strategic client positions; negotiate, lead, and facilitate these relationships
  • Display both breadth and depth of knowledge regarding functional and technical issues
  • Provide counseling/coaching, leadership and support for delivery teams and staff
  • Actively participate in staff recruitment and retention activities providing input and guidance into the staffing process
  • Focus on managed revenue targets as well as achieving quarterly or yearly sales objectives for new business
  • Lead business development initiatives to grow our practice
  • Manage resources and budget on client projects
  • Leverage existing (and create new) executive-level relationships with defense and space clients to accelerate growth of Deloitte's consulting presence
  • Key contributor for the development of Deloitte's strategic approach to engagements at clients, both current and future
  • Support multiple functional and technical practices engaged at target clients, ensuring alignment of services delivered to core client needs
  • Serve as a primary source of knowledge to Deloitte Leadership and consulting practitioners on client operations, pain points, and future strategy

Our Service Operations team provides expertise to Federal clients facing budgetary constraints by helping them define, implement, and sustain workable improvements within their environment. Our Service Operations professionals bring strong domain knowledge, and expertise in project management, business process re-engineering, performance management, and operations management to help our clients meet the challenges of a rapidly evolving business landscape.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Management, Engineering, or other business-related field
  • 7+ years of relevant consulting or industry experience
  • 3+ years in a technical or functional lead role
  • Experience mentoring and coaching others
  • Proven leadership skills demonstrating strong judgment, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities
  • Experience managing senior-level client relationships
  • Experience presenting to clients or other decision makers to present and sell ideas to various audiences (technical and non-technical)
  • Pre-sales, proposal, and RFP experience
  • Proven track record of consistently attaining managed revenue targets as well as achieving quarterly or yearly sales objectives for new business
  • Ability to obtain and maintain the required Security Clearance for this role

Preferred:

  • Prior professional services or federal consulting experience
  • 10+ years experience within the defense and space industry
  • USAF Space and Missile Systems Center (SMC) experience strongly desired
  • Masters of Business Administration (MBA) degree
