Deloitte Consulting LLP seeks a Consultant, Human Capital, Actuarial, Rewards & Analytics in New York, NY and various unanticipated Deloitte office locations and client sites nationally.

Work You'll Do

Deliver strategic and technical actuarial consulting services across different industry sectors. Assist insurance providers in all aspects of insurance, financial services, and risk issues. Work with health and P&C insurance products, insurance reserve calculation requirements and mechanics, and actuarial projection system. Calculate deferred acquisition costs, unpaid claims liabilities and benefit reserves for general liability and workers' compensation using loss methodologies including Incurred/Paid Loss Development Method, Expected Loss Ratio Method, Incurred Bornhuetter-Ferguson (B-F) Method, Frequency-Severity Method and Incurred/Paid Berquist-Sherman (B-S) Method. Create and design infrastructure diagrams and flowcharts and extracting data using Excel, SQL, and PowerPoint. Provide analytical and technical support by performing financial statements analysis, including analytics reconciliation, trending analysis, industry benchmarking and sensitivity analysis by utilizing Discounted Cash Flow (DCF) and other valuation methods. Validate assumptions applied in projections and testing key actuarial reserve balances using GAAP and statutory accounting techniques. Perform quarterly audit procedures by recalculating, evaluating Other Postemployment Benefits (OPEB) obligations and investigating evidence appearing contradicting to other audit evidence obtained. Perform FAS60 loss recognition testing and evaluating Shadow Loss Recognition Adjustment reserve balances.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Mathematics, Economics, Statistics, Actuarial Science, or a related field.
  • Must have one year of experience providing strategic and actuarial consulting services to clients on behalf of a global consulting company.
  • Must have one year of experience with:
  • Calculating deferred acquisition costs, unpaid claims liabilities and benefit reserves for general liability and workers' compensation using loss methodologies including Incurred/Paid Loss Development Method, Expected Loss Ratio Method, Incurred Bornhuetter-Ferguson (B-F) Method, Frequency-Severity Method and Incurred/Paid Berquist-Sherman (B-S) Method;
