C&I Cloud Migration Architect/Engineer – Manager

Cloud is transforming the way technology enables the business. It represents a radical shift in how IT services are obtained, used, and managed. Companies are navigating through the various cloud options and deciding between private, public, or a combination across different and dynamic provider ecosystems. Our cloud architects guide our clients through multi-year journeys from the case for change through implementation across all dimensions of cloud – business alignment, technology architecture and design, cloud application on-boarding, and transforming their operating model – to help solve our client’s most complex issues with the focus on value creation.

Work you’ll do

As a Migration Architect/Engineer you will lead the technical teams to move enterprise workload to a cloud provider or ecosystem. This migration of application workloads to the cloud will require you to be responsible for:

  • Application workload and data migration to cloud to meet customer requirements
  • Design and build interfaces between applications and other providers
  • Ownership of overall migration effort, workloads, backup and DR services
  • Able to analyze, design, and implement cloud migration strategies without impacting business continuity
  • Develops migration plans, execute, performs and tests application workload to the cloud
  • Migration integration with other applications or cloud providers
  • Manage workload migrations based on size, scale, etc.
  • Configure monitoring tools like CloudWatch, setup alarms and event triggers to ensure reliability of applications in the cloud

Technology Strategy & Architecture

Specific Qualifications

Technical Requirements

  • Deep experience inside large enterprise application environments
  • Deep experience with moving application workloads from on-premise to off-premise or visa-versa
  • Understanding of different types of storage (block and file), availability zones, compute types and application requirements
  • Understanding of API integration and management (gateways), monitoring workloads and creating application dashboards in the cloud. Ideally, knowledge with AWS or Azure would beneficial.
  • Fundamental knowledge of cloud identity and access management (IAM) and enterprise compliance.
  • Experience provisioning compute, network and storage resources and support application workloads, enterprise volume of traffic and on-premise application integration.
  • Fundamental understanding of data warehousing and different database types (NoSQL)
  • Experience with scaling out versus up, using elastic services and load balancers
  • Hands on experience with deploying, testing and managing enterprise applications to the cloud

Consulting Requirements

  • 6+ years of relevant consulting or industry experience
  • Understanding of Cloud Business Models (Subscriber, Provider, Broker and Enabler)
  • Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills with the ability to exercise mature judgment
  • Demonstrated experience preparing and facilitating technology/architecture brainstorming sessions and workshops
  • Ability to articulate leading business issues and trends, underlying technology implications, relate technical issues to business terms within one or more industries
  • Effective communication skills (written and verbal) to effectively interact with all levels of technology and business partners
  • Ability to work with the Business and IT leadership
  • Experience in working with Senior leadership team to design technology and process landscape and develop overall solution strategy
  • Ability to take major ownership in orchestrating client workshops and customer interactive sessions
  • Experience in developing business case drawing tangible connections between strategy and financial-success metrics
  • Willingness to travel 80 – 100% of the time (Monday – Thursday/Friday)


  • Experience with designing, implementing, or operating IT systems on leading commercial Cloud platforms, including AWS, Azure, and Google
  • Experience with on-premise enterprise applications (Fortune 1000 company experience)
  • Experience with modern development and testing techniques such as continuous delivery and continuous integration
  • A background in software development lifecycle and experience is nice to have (but not required)
  • Understanding of integration between cloud providers, systems and different API calls
  • Agile methodology
