Assurance & Advisory - Government Advisory Senior Analyst (Sydney & Western Sydney)

About the role

Our Advisory team applies core assurance and technical accounting skills in an advisory or consulting context to assist our clients in managing their operational performance. Our team are specialist advisors in Finance Function Effectiveness, large accounting transactions and specialised finance outsourcing providing advice across a wide range of industries.

We work with key government departments and agencies to support management in making sound, informed decisions in a timely manner. We do this by working closely with finance functions to reshape financial and management reporting ensuring that it meets the needs of management and the business. We aim to continuously improve the level of transparency taxpayers have regarding the use of public funds.

Deloitte’s Government Advisory team have commenced an exciting growth phase in our Sydney and Western Sydney office in Parramatta and we are looking for high performing Senior Analysts to be part of this expansion. We deliver insights to CFOs and their teams through a range of projects centred on the Last Mile of Finance, including:

  • Chart of accounts design
  • Month-end close & automation
  • Management reporting/dashboards
  • Performance management & forecasting
  • The policies, systems & processes that enable the finance function
  • Balance sheet integrity and reduce the risk of misstatement

About you

Reporting to the Partners and Directors, you will work within a team environment to identify opportunities to improve efficiency and effectiveness across the finance function. You will have:

  • CA qualification or the equivalent
  • Commercial experience within an accounting function and/or previous experience in external audit
  • Strong technical accounting skills
  • Well-developed relationship management skills
