Application Developer- Service Now- Deloitte Global

The primary objective of the position is to carry out various development opportunities within the Service Now platform that underpins IT Service Management functions. The role sits within the Service Enablement Development Team and is tasked with delivering solutions that integrate various enterprise systems in a hybrid cloud environment. The role requires advanced to mastery skills that enable the individual to deliver a high level of service and to meet the expectation from the business, as well as a very solid understanding of an enterprise IT infrastructure operational environment and industry best practice.

Role Specific Responsibilities

  • Solid ServiceNow development experience
  • Experience in Web development languages, specifically JavaScript, XML, AngularJS, Bootstrap, and HTML/CSS
  • Experience in Web Service integrations using SOAP and REST
  • Participation in the full software development life cycle: Analysis, Design, Coding, Testing and promotion into Production
  • Experience with relational database systems and MS SQL queries
  • Experience administering a ServiceNow instance including managing the overall security of the platform, configuring Service Level Agreements (SLAs), developing workflows, business rules, UI pages, UI actions, UI policies, ACLs, catalog items and updates of all other existing solutions requiring revisions
  • Developing, designing, configuring and rollout of new application modules, workflows and catalog requests
  • Authoring and maintaining technical documentation
  • Loading, manipulating and maintaining data within/between ServiceNow and other systems
  • Performing system and integration testing
  • A strong desire to produce quality work, adopt standards and adhere to those standards
  • Provide input to assist with continual improvement

Additional responsibilities regardless of team include:

  • Accountable for execution according to established standards, procedures, and processes
  • Ensure optimization and performance of the hardware and virtual infrastructure
  • Monitor the Service Desk system
  • Participate in planned "Systems Day" and other maintenance activities
  • Participate in a 24x7x365 on-call rotation (GHC, EIO teams)
  • Respond to and manage service issues and problems
  • Responsible for awareness and compliance to policy and guidelines of the ISMS
  • Report any breaches in information security or policies

  • Coach others
  • Participation in global working groups responsible for the deployment and development of global technology systems and infrastructure
  • Provide input into peer performance reviews
  • Mentoring of staff on technical process and procedure

Knowledge Sharing / Documentation

  • Contribute to, produce and maintain processes, procedures, operational and architectural documentation
  • Change Control - Ensure compliance with Processes and adherence to standards and documentation
  • Assist in training new staff in technical processes and procedures
  • Work with GTS leadership and applications teams in reviewing new documentation

Education (degree): Bachelor's Degree

Other (Explain): College Diploma in Computer Science or equivalent industry experience

Years of Experience: 5+

Other Qualifications

  • ServiceNow system administration certification
  • Certified ServiceNow developer certification a plus, but demonstrable experienced also strong qualification
  • ITIL Foundation Qualification – Desirable but not necessary.
  • Ability to work effectively, with minimal day-to-day supervision, and contribute significantly to the success of the practice globally
  • Flexible work style and experience managing to defined deadlines and work under tight time constraints.
