Mobile Software Engineer - Android

Essential Job Duties

  • Complete complex engineering tasks
  • Troubleshoot and solve code level problems quickly and efficiently
  • Provide unit, integration and automation tests
  • Collaborate with senior team members on design and implementation
  • Collaborate with all SCRUM team members to deliver good results.
  • Participate in SCRUM related events such as Sprint Planning, Retrospectives and Backlog Grooming

Education

  • BS or MS in Computer Science or equivalent/proven professional experience

Experience

  • 2+ Years Mobile Software Engineering
  • Experience working on an Agile Scrum Team
  • Experience with Atlassian tools a plus Skills & Expertise (Required)
  • Experience with either Android or iOS native platform development
  • Experience using the native application language
  • Android: Java,
  • iOS: Objective-C or swift
  • Experience in OOP Architecture, Design Patterns and Implementation
  • Develops apps for single devices (handheld or tablet only)
  • Develops UI with native design tools
  • Experience building applications with a UI that adapts to the device
  • Android: Relative layout/resources
  • iOS: CoreData
  • Makes efficient use of native file system for storage and caching of user data

Skills & Expertise (Preferred)

  • Familiarity with at least one dynamic scripting language (PHP, Perl, Python or Ruby)
  • Web Services and Serialization (XML, JSON, SOAP, REST)
  • NoSQL and SQL databases Other Abilities
