WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
We are looking for a driven and motivated VP of Software Development who can help us deliver outstanding Technical and Architectural expertise to the organization. Reporting to the CTO, you’ll work with teams to develop Software that performs at a high level, is scalable and follows industry best practises. You’ll develop and build roadmaps for both our technical vision as well as management of our people.
You are passionate about new technologies, and well rounded with many aspects of software development because you’ve been a developer yourself in the past. Ideally, you’ve grown to a VP level position so you can interact with and understand many cross functional teams to collaborate effectively at all levels. You specialize in growing, coaching and motivating people.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING:
Collaborate with Architects and other Product Leaders to plan Product Development and delivery.
Plan, recruit, manage, guide and mentor a high performing team that stays focused on that delivery and executes with success
Identify issues that get in the way of success
Build, deploy and manage massively large-scale distributed systems,
Demonstrate comfort with helping implement CI/CD pipelines and know how to overcome potential obstacles
Adapt. You’re never satisfied with status quo; being an Agile specialist means you understand the Fail Fast principle and live by it
Learning and adapting to needs of business and our clients
Understand best Development practises, quality code and investing in the team.

The overall objective of the VP, Software Development is to power the growth of Dealer-FX by ensuring the growth and development of the Dealer-FX product. It is the job of the VP Software Development to get a world class product out the door, ensuring high performance and scalability.
To achieve its core objectives and meet the day-to-day requirements of the job, the VP, Software Development brings skill and competence in a variety of areas:
- Technical acumen is typically acquired through many years (i.e. more than 10) of progressive jobs and positions in technology and development
- Leadership and People Management competence will have been developed through several years working in increasingly demanding and complex leadership roles. Typically, the VP will have direct experience of a similar scale, scope and complexity as this position, or failing that, can demonstrate readiness to advance to a VP level.
- Planning and Process, including:
- Proficiency in code review best practices
- Proficiency in JIRA & Confluence a plus
- Hands-on experience with Continuous Integration, Automated Deployments, and Release Management best practices
- Well versed in the Software Development Life Cycle, and extensive knowledge of Agile and its tools, including Scrum & Kanban
